Professional Overview

The Ruijie RG-ES207GS-P is a six-port Gigabit PoE switch designed specifically for small camera and access-point installs. Four of the six copper ports deliver 802.3af/at PoE+ from a 54 W budget, the remaining two are non-powered Gigabit ports, and a 1GE SFP slot provides a fibre uplink where copper will not reach. The fabric is 14 Gbps with a 10.42 Mpps forwarding rate.

Two features make this switch worth choosing over a generic four-port PoE switch. IP Camera Recognition automatically identifies connected cameras and shows them by device rather than by port number, which turns fault-finding on a camera network into reading a list instead of tracing cables. PoE Watchdog pings each powered device and power-cycles the port if it stops responding — the single most common cause of a site visit for a frozen IP camera, resolved without one.

Perpetual PoE keeps power on the connected devices through a switch reboot or firmware upgrade, so cameras and access points do not all drop and re-register when the switch restarts. The 1GE SFP uplink is genuinely useful at this size: a small camera cluster is often at the end of a fibre run from the main building, and this switch terminates it directly.

The switch is fanless and silent, operates from 0°C to +40°C, and carries a 3-year warranty. Ruijie Cloud management is included for the life of the product — zero-touch provisioning, remote monitoring, firmware management and configuration from the Ruijie Reyee app or a browser, at no subscription cost. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.
