Professional Overview

The Ruijie RG-AP180 is a Wi-Fi 6 wall-plate access point from Ruijie's enterprise range, delivering 1,775 Mbps aggregate across dual 2x2 MU-MIMO radios with four Gigabit LAN ports on the faceplate. It fits an 86 mm or EU standard junction box and is only 19 mm deep in the in-wall configuration, or 24 mm mounted above the wall.

The design target is the multi-service guest room or study bedroom: wireless coverage inside the room rather than through its walls, plus wired ports for a television, an IP handset and a data outlet, from one structured cable run. Power is 802.3af/at PoE with a 10 W maximum draw and only 3.3 W at idle, so a modest PoE budget covers a large number of rooms — a 120 W switch can run more than a dozen of these comfortably.

Because this is the enterprise AP180 rather than a Reyee model, the authentication and management feature set is broader. Each SSID carries its own authentication method, encryption and VLAN mapping, SSID hiding is supported, and client access can be controlled with allowlists and both static and dynamic blocklists. Management is available through Ruijie Cloud, the Eweb browser interface, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, console, Telnet, SSH and TFTP, and there is a Micro USB console port under the decorative cover for local access.

An onboard Bluetooth radio with a 2.4 dBi antenna supports beacon and IoT use cases alongside the Wi-Fi service. The AP operates from −10°C to +50°C with a 200,000-hour MTBF at 25°C, weighs 0.19 kg, and accepts 12 V DC as an alternative to PoE. This is a 2.4/5 GHz dual-band access point and does not use the 6 GHz band. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.
