The PowerShield Centurion RT 6000VA Long Run (PSCERT6000L) is a true online double-conversion UPS rated 6000 VA / 6000 W in a rack/tower design.

ARC IP Networks supplies the genuine PowerShield PSCERT6000L in Australia with the full PowerShield Australian warranty (2 years, extended free to 3 years when you register the UPS with PowerShield, with on-site service for this hardwired 6 kVA unit) and Australia-wide delivery.

PowerShield Centurion RT 6000VA Long Run overview

The PSCERT6000L is the 6 kVA long-run model in PowerShield's Centurion RT range: a true online double-conversion UPS with a pure sine wave output and 0 ms transfer from line to battery and from inverter to bypass. Both the UPS and its standard battery bank are only 2U high, which makes 6 kVA of online protection practical in a standard 19-inch rack.

Battery banks and output power

As a long-run model the PSCERT6000L has a larger charger and no internal batteries; it runs from an external battery bank. PowerShield lists the PSRTBB16 (16 batteries, 2U) as standard and the PSCERBB20 (20 batteries, 3U) as optional. The battery string sets the output power factor: 1.0 with 20 batteries (6000 W), 0.9 with 18 and 0.8 with 16. Choose the PSCERBB20 when you need the full 6000 W. Typical recharge is 4 hours for either bank, from a 4 A charger.

Installation

Input and output are hard-wired terminals rather than a plug and sockets, so plan for a fixed electrical installation. For IEC outlets in the rack, PowerShield pairs it with the PSMBSR10K rackmount maintenance bypass switch and the PSPDU10K PDU (8 x C13 and 4 x C19). Input voltage range is 110–300 VAC at up to 60% load, 140–300 VAC at 60–80% load and 176–300 VAC above 80% load.

Management and efficiency

USB and RS-232 are standard, with HID support for Windows, Apple, Linux and NAS devices and the free PowerShield NetGuard software. The intelligent slot accepts the PSSNMPV4 SNMP card, a Modbus card or the PSAS400 relay card. Efficiency is above 94% in AC mode and above 93% in battery mode, and the ECO and advanced ECO modes reach up to 98%.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the PowerShield PSCERT6000L from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed October 2026.

The PSCERT6000L is the PowerShield Centurion RT 6000VA Long Run true online double-conversion UPS, rated 6000 VA / 6000 W.

Yes. It is a true online double-conversion UPS: incoming AC is converted to DC and back to a clean AC output continuously, which isolates equipment from mains problems and gives zero transfer time to battery.

About 34 minutes at 2500 VA (1750 W) and 28 minutes at 3000 VA (2100 W) with 1 x PSCERBB20, per PowerShield's runtime chart. With 2 x PSCERBB20 it is about 67 minutes at 3000 VA. Real runtime varies with temperature and battery age.

Yes. PowerShield lists the PSRTBB16, PSCERBB20 external battery bank for the PSCERT6000L; banks connect to the UPS with a DC cable and further banks daisy-chain.

Yes. The PSCERT6000L has an intelligent slot for the PSSNMPV4 SNMP card, a Modbus card or the PSAS400 relay card. The PSSNMPV4 adds web monitoring, email and SNMP alerts, and automatic shutdown of servers and VMware or Hyper-V hosts.

Yes, for NAS devices that support USB HID UPS signalling. PowerShield states the PSCERT6000L supports HID for Windows, Apple, Linux and NAS devices, so a connected NAS or computer can shut down in an orderly way during a long outage.

No. The PSCERT6000L has hard-wired terminal input and output, so it is installed as a fixed electrical connection rather than plugged into a wall socket.

Up to 6000 W and 6000 VA. PowerShield suggests adding up the watts of the equipment you want to protect and dividing by 0.7 to get the VA rating the UPS must exceed, then allowing headroom for runtime.
