The TP-Link EAP772 is an Omada BE9300 tri-band Wi-Fi 7 ceiling mount access point for modern business networks. Six spatial streams across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz deliver up to 688, 4324 and 5765 Mbps respectively, with 320 MHz channels on 6 GHz, Multi-Link Operation, Multi-RUs and 4K-QAM for high speed and low latency. TP-Link lists 380+ concurrent clients and up to 140 square metres of coverage. A single 2.5 Gbps multi-gigabit port provides the uplink and accepts 802.3at PoE+, or the AP can run from 12 V / 2.5 A DC (adapter not included). It supports 24 SSIDs, captive portal, mesh and 802.11k/v/r roaming, managed through Omada cloud, OC200, OC300 or software controllers.

The TP-Link EAP772 is an Omada BE9300 tri-band Wi-Fi 7 ceiling mount access point with six streams: 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 4324 Mbps on 5 GHz and 5765 Mbps on 6 GHz with 320 MHz channels. It supports MLO, 4K-QAM and Multi-RUs, 380+ concurrent clients and 140 square metres of coverage, and has one 2.5 Gbps port powered by 802.3at PoE+ or 12 V / 2.5 A DC (adapter not included), plus Bluetooth 5.2.

EAP772 overview

The EAP772 is TP-Link's Omada tri-band ceiling mount Wi-Fi 7 access point. TP-Link says it delivers high-speed, low-latency wireless performance with enhanced multi-user efficiency to meet the demands of modern businesses. In Australia it is listed as BE9300, with signal rates of 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 4324 Mbps on 5 GHz and 5765 Mbps on 6 GHz; TP-Link's global datasheet describes the same model as BE11000 for the US and BE9300 for the EU. It supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be with six streams across three bands. TP-Link notes that maximum signal rates are physical rates from the IEEE 802.11 specifications, and that actual throughput, coverage and connected devices will vary.

Wi-Fi 7 technologies listed for the EAP772 are Multi-Link Operation (MLO), the 6 GHz band, 320 MHz bandwidth (EHT320), 4K-QAM, Multi-RUs, MU-MIMO, OFDMA and BSS colouring, which TP-Link says significantly enhance throughput, connection stability and concurrent capacity. MLO lets compatible clients use more than one band at once, and the 320 MHz channel on 6 GHz is what enables the 5765 Mbps figure. The datasheet also mentions long-range 6 GHz coverage with AFC (automated frequency coordination), noting that AFC availability varies by region or country. Internal antennas are 2 x 4 dBi on 2.4 GHz and 2 x 5 dBi each on 5 GHz and 6 GHz, plus a 4 dBi antenna for the Bluetooth 5.2 radio.

TP-Link lists coverage of up to 140 square metres (1,500 sq ft) and 380+ concurrent clients, both based on laboratory testing. The wired uplink is one 10M/100M/1000M/2.5G multi-gigabit RJ45 port, which TP-Link says ensures fast connectivity throughout the network; connected to a 2.5G switch port it can pass more than Gigabit traffic. Power is either 802.3at PoE+ on that port or 12 V / 2.5 A DC through a separate DC jack. Maximum consumption is 25.44 W on PoE and 22.57 W on DC. The power adapter is not included, so plan for an 802.3at PoE+ switch or injector.

The housing measures 220 x 220 x 32.5 mm and the main unit weighs 0.7 kg. The AU page lists ceiling and wall mounting kits in the box, and the datasheet also lists junction box and T-bar mounting kits and a cable compartment cover. It operates from 0 to 40 °C and is certified to CE, FCC and IC. Wireless functions include 24 SSIDs (eight per band), load balance, band steering, beamforming, airtime fairness, WMM QoS, rate limits, RADIUS accounting, MAC authentication and wireless and reboot schedules. Security covers captive portal authentication, access control, up to 4,000 MAC filter entries, client isolation, VLAN, rogue AP detection and WPA, WPA2 and WPA3 Personal/Enterprise.

For management, TP-Link lists the Omada Cloud-Based Controller, the OC300 and OC200 hardware controllers and the Omada Software Controller, plus the Omada app, web management, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, syslog, email alerts and LED control. Cloud access requires one of those controllers. 802.11k/v/r seamless roaming is supported, and Omada mesh and captive portal work with an Omada controller. Compared with the EAP773, the EAP772 has a 2.5G rather than 10G port and a higher listed 5 GHz rate (4324 versus 2880 Mbps); compared with the EAP772-Outdoor, it is an indoor ceiling unit that also accepts DC power. In the box are the EAP772, a ceiling/wall mounting kit and an installation guide.
