Why choose the DS-3E1105P-EI

The Hikvision DS-3E1105P-EI brings smart-managed features to a four-camera site. It is small enough to sit on a shelf or screw to a wall, yet it carries the same management toolkit as the larger rack switches in the range: 802.1Q VLANs to keep cameras off the office network, STP/RSTP loop prevention, port isolation, port mirroring, LLDP and cable diagnostics that find open circuits, shorts and cable length.

Four 10/100 Mbps PoE ports share a 60 W budget — each port can supply up to 30 W (802.3at), so a mix of turrets, bullets and a compact PTZ is no problem. Ports 1 and 2 are VIP ports whose traffic is forwarded first when bandwidth is short, and the PoE watchdog automatically restarts any camera that stops responding. Long-range mode stretches a run to 300 m for a gate or far boundary camera.

Remote sites are where it shines: activate it in Hik-Partner Pro and you can see port rates, PoE usage, topology and alarms, restart a port or push a firmware update without driving to site. Supplied by ARC IP Networks as genuine Australian stock with local warranty and support.

Best for

  • Small camera systems: four PoE cameras on one compact switch.
  • Extending an NVR: add cameras beyond the recorder’s built-in PoE ports.
  • Remote sites: manage, monitor and restart ports through Hik-Partner Pro.
  • Long cable runs: reach a camera up to 300 m away in long-range mode.
  • Wall-mounted installs: screw it inside a comms cupboard or ceiling space.

Professional Overview

The Hikvision DS-3E1105P-EI is a four-port smart-managed PoE switch built for small surveillance systems and for extending a recorder that has run out of PoE ports. Its four 10/100 Mbps PoE ports share a 60 W budget and can each deliver up to 30 W under IEEE 802.3at, while a fifth 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port provides the uplink to an NVR, router or core switch. Fast Ethernet is ample for IP cameras, whose streams are typically a few megabits per second each.

What separates it from an unmanaged switch is control. 802.1Q VLANs keep camera traffic segregated, STP/RSTP stops accidental cabling loops from taking the network down, and port isolation prevents cameras from talking to each other. The PoE watchdog watches each powered device and power-cycles a port when a camera stops responding, and VIP ports 1 and 2 give priority to your most important cameras when bandwidth is tight.

For installers the Hik-Partner Pro integration is the headline: one-click activation, a live topology view, PoE power usage and alarm status, remote port restarts, remote long-range mode and remote firmware upgrades. Cable detection reports open circuits, shorts and cable length, which takes much of the guesswork out of fault finding. The metal housing is desk or wall mountable and is powered by an external 54 V DC supply.

Choose the DS-3E1105P-EI for homes, small shops and offices, remote huts and gates, or anywhere you need four managed PoE ports in a small footprint. Pair it with Hikvision or HiLook PoE cameras and a Hikvision NVR for a complete, centrally managed system. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.

How it compares

All Hikvision smart-managed (-EI) PoE switches share PoE watchdog, 300 m long-range mode and Hik-Partner Pro management. The choice comes down to port count, Fast Ethernet vs gigabit, and PoE budget.

Complete your system

Pair this switch with Hikvision or HiLook PoE cameras and a Hikvision NVR. Add up each camera’s maximum power draw and keep it under the 60 W budget, and use solid-copper Cat6 cable for long runs.

Works with your system

Fast Ethernet is plenty for cameras. A typical 4 MP–8 MP camera stream uses only a few megabits per second, so four cameras sit comfortably within the 100 Mbps uplink.

Hikvision & HiLook cameras

Any IEEE 802.3af/at PoE camera — Hikvision, HiLook or third-party.

Hik-Partner Pro

One-click activation, topology, PoE usage, alarms, port restarts and remote firmware upgrades.

HikCentral Professional

Manage the switch alongside cameras and recorders in HikCentral Pro.

Web management

Built-in web GUI with DHCP client and a fixed “Super IP” (10.180.190.200) for direct access.

Any NVR or network

Standard Ethernet uplink to a non-PoE NVR, a router or your core switch.

Cable diagnostics

Detects open circuits, short circuits and cable length from the switch.

Frequently asked questions

It has four PoE ports and a 60 W total PoE budget, with up to 30 W per port. Four standard fixed cameras fit comfortably. If you mix in higher-draw devices, add up each camera’s maximum power and keep the total under 60 W.

No. On the current DS-3E1105P-EI (V2) hardware all five ports, including the uplink, are 10/100 Mbps. That is ample for four IP cameras. If you need gigabit ports, look at the DS-3E1510P-EI.

A camera occasionally locks up and stops sending video while still drawing power. The PoE watchdog on the DS-3E1105P-EI detects a camera that stops responding and power-cycles that port automatically to restart it — so a frozen camera recovers itself instead of needing a site visit.

Standard Ethernet is specified to 100 m. In long-range mode the DS-3E1105P-EI can reach a powered camera up to 300 m away on its PoE ports. Hikvision notes long-range performance varies with the camera model and cable condition, so use good-quality solid-copper Cat6 for long runs.

Each PoE port supplies up to 30 W (IEEE 802.3af/at), which runs standard fixed cameras and many compact PTZs. Large PTZs, heated housings or devices needing more than 30 W require a Hi-PoE (802.3bt) switch or the camera’s own power supply. Always check the camera’s maximum power draw.

Yes. It is a standard IEEE 802.3af/at PoE switch, so it works with any compliant PoE camera — Hikvision, HiLook or third-party — and connects to any NVR, router or network switch through its uplink port(s).

Through a built-in web interface, through HikCentral Professional, or remotely through the Hik-Partner Pro cloud, which shows port rate, bandwidth use, PoE usage, topology and alarms and lets you restart ports, enable long-range mode and upgrade firmware remotely.

It runs from an external 54 V DC, 1.2 A power supply, and the metal housing can sit on a desk or shelf or be wall-mounted.
