Why choose the DS-2CD6825G0/C-IVS

Footfall is one of the most useful numbers a site can have — for retail conversion, staffing, occupancy and cleaning schedules — and a general-purpose CCTV camera doesn’t produce it. The DS-2CD6825G0/C-IVS is purpose-built for it. It is a dual-lens camera designed to be mounted overhead, looking down on a doorway, where it counts people entering and exiting separately and supports target filtering by height.

The counting data is stored on the camera’s own eMMC storage, can be uploaded in real time or per statistics cycle, and the camera can email reports on a daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis. Alongside the counting it streams 1920 × 1080 video with H.265+ compression, has a built-in microphone, a line-level audio input and output, 1 alarm input and 1 alarm output, and RS-485. The -V housing is IP67, and it runs on standard 802.3af PoE (max. 8.3 W) or 12 VDC.

Best for

  • Retail entrances: separate in and out counts at the shopfront for footfall and conversion reporting.
  • Occupancy tracking: compare entries and exits through the day at a single controlled doorway.
  • Staffing and opening hours: scheduled email reports show traffic by day, week, month or year.
  • Counting adults, not trolleys: height filtering helps exclude low objects and set who gets counted.
  • Covered outdoor entries: the -V version is IP67 rated, so it suits sheltered external doorways as well as indoor ones.

Who it’s for

Retail stores

Measure footfall at the front door and compare it with sales to see real conversion.

Shopping centres

Count traffic at mall entries and tenancy doorways for leasing and marketing reports.

Libraries & galleries

Report visitor numbers by day, week, month or year without manual clickers.

Offices & venues

Track how many people pass through a doorway across the day.

Facilities managers

Use traffic data to plan cleaning, staffing and opening hours.

Installers & integrators

A standalone counter that runs on standard PoE and reports by email or upload.

Dual-Lens People Counting Network Camera, 2 MP, 2 mm, IR 6 m, IP67 — In/Out Counting with Audio & Alarm I/O

Professional Overview

The Hikvision DS-2CD6825G0/C-IVS is a dual-lens people counting network camera from Hikvision’s special-function series. Designed for overhead installation above an entrance, it uses on-camera analytics to count people entering and exiting separately, with target filtering by height. The camera also records 2 MP video: a 1/2.7″ progressive-scan CMOS sensor delivers 1920 × 1080 at up to 25 fps (50 Hz) or 30 fps (60 Hz).

Its 2 mm fixed lens (F2.25) provides a 104.5° horizontal, 70.5° vertical and 112° diagonal field of view, and 850 nm IR covers up to 6 m. Hikvision’s installation table relates mounting height to detection span — for example around 3.34 m of span at 3.1 m height, rising to 7.69 m at 6 m height. Hikvision does not publish a counting-accuracy percentage in the datasheet; correct mounting height and placement over the traffic path are what matter most.

Counting data is kept on the built-in eMMC storage, uploaded in real time or by statistic cycle, and summarised in email reports on a daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis. Event linkage covers FTP/NAS upload, surveillance-centre notification, email, alarm output, recording and capture. The -S version adds a line-level audio input and output (two-core terminal blocks) and RS-485 to the built-in microphone, plus 1 alarm input and 1 alarm output.

Video is compressed with H.265+/H.265/H.264+/H.264 (sub-stream H.265/H.264/MJPEG), and the camera supports ONVIF Profile S and G, ISAPI and SDK, with iVMS-4200 and Hik-Connect clients. Power is 802.3af PoE (Class 3, max. 8.3 W) or 12 VDC (max. 8 W). The -V housing is IP67 rated and operates from −30 °C to +45 °C. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.

Complete your system

The DS-2CD6825G0/C-IVS works as a standalone counter — it stores its own counting data and can email reports — and it also streams video to a network video recorder (NVR). It needs only standard 802.3af PoE (max. 8.3 W), so any Hikvision PoE NVR or PoE switch port can power it over a single cable.

Frequently asked questions

It is a dual-lens people counting camera. Mounted overhead at an entrance, it counts people entering and exiting separately, supports target filtering by height, stores the counting data on board and can upload it or email reports — while also streaming 2 MP video.

Hikvision does not publish a counting-accuracy percentage in the DS-2CD6825G0/C-I(V)(S) datasheet, so we don’t quote one. Results depend on installation: mount the camera overhead within Hikvision’s recommended height range so the doorway falls inside the detection span.

Hikvision’s installation table runs from 2.1 m mounting height (about 0.95 m detection span) to 6 m (about 7.69 m span). For example, at 3.1 m height the typical maximum detection span is 3.34 m.

Counts can be uploaded in real time or per statistic cycle, and the camera can send email reports on a daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis. The data is held on the camera’s built-in eMMC storage.

The -V model is rated IP67 against dust and water and operates from −30 °C to +45 °C, so it suits covered external entrances as well as indoor doorways.

The -S version adds a line-level audio input and output (two-core terminal blocks) and an RS-485 interface on top of the built-in microphone. The camera also has 1 alarm input and 1 alarm output (max. 24 VDC, 1 A).

By standard 802.3af PoE (Class 3, max. 8.3 W) or 12 VDC (max. 8 W), so any Hikvision PoE NVR or PoE switch can power it on a single network cable.

Yes. It streams 1920 × 1080 video at up to 25/30 fps with H.265+ compression to an NVR or VMS, and supports ONVIF Profile S and G.
