Professional Overview

The AMO-2G10 is a UISP networking device. 2.4 GHz, 10 dBi carrier-class 2x2 dual-polarity MIMO omnidirectional antenna.

Australian stock, fast shipping from ARC IP Networks.

Ubiquiti AMO-2G10: omnidirectional antenna

The airMAX 2.4 GHz, 10 dBi Omni Antenna is a omnidirectional antenna with 10 dBi of gain and covering 2.35—2.55 GHz.

2.4 GHz, 10 dBi carrier-class 2x2 dual-polarity MIMO omnidirectional antenna.

An omni covers a full 360°, which suits a small site with subscribers in every direction — at the cost of gain and of picking up noise from everywhere at once.

Cross-pol isolation is what lets the two polarities carry separate streams. The higher the figure, the better 2x2 MIMO holds up in a noisy environment.

The mount hardware listed above ships with the AMO-2G10 — check it against your pole diameter before ordering a separate bracket.

Wind loading is the force the mast has to carry in a gale. On a tall or marginal mount it, not the antenna, is what fails first — size the structure for it.

Who the AMO-2G10 suits

  • Small sites with subscribers spread in every direction
  • Temporary and event deployments where aiming is impractical
  • Networks small enough that gain matters less than coverage

What the AMO-2G10 works with

The AMO-2G10 is a passive antenna. It needs a radio to drive it, and the radio is a separate purchase — an airMAX Rocket or equivalent, mounted to the antenna and cabled back with the supplied RF jumpers.

Gain figures are only half a link budget. The other half is the radio, the path, and what the far end is running — an antenna cannot rescue a link with an obstructed Fresnel zone.
