Best for

  • Trucks, vans and utes that need forward road video with location and speed on the footage.
  • Fleets that want live view and event upload over 4G to a central platform.
  • Operators who want ADAS warnings for drivers, with DSM alerts when a driver-facing camera is added.
  • Buses and service vehicles that need a compact 3-channel system without a separate mobile DVR.
  • Insurance and incident evidence, with G-sensor events for harsh braking and cornering.

Who it’s for

Transport & logistics

Road-facing video, GPS and harsh-driving events for every truck.

Fleet managers

4G live view and event upload into HikCentral Professional.

Bus & coach operators

Driver assistance and driver fatigue alerts.

Trades & service fleets

Simple app set-up over Wi-Fi with dual microSD recording.

Councils

Waste, maintenance and community transport vehicles.

Fleet installers

8-pin power harness with ACC sensing and two alarm inputs.

Before you install

  • SIM card: Hikvision states the device needs an industrial-grade SIM card; ordinary consumer SIM cards are not supported. Talk to your carrier about an IoT or M2M data SIM.
  • 4G bands: Hikvision’s datasheet lists region-specific LTE band sets, and the RCM-approved version includes FDD-LTE B1, B3, B5, B7, B8 and B28 and TDD-LTE B40. Check coverage on your carrier before rolling out a fleet.
  • Power: wire the 8-pin harness to permanent 12 V or 24 V, ACC (ignition) and ground. Supported ranges are 11.8–16 V and 23.5–36 V.
  • Mounting: the camera is IP4X and not waterproof, so mount it inside the cab, on the windscreen and clear of the wiper sweep, with a clear forward view for ADAS.
  • Storage: use Class 10 or faster microSD cards, up to 512 GB each.
  • Extension cameras: CH2 and CH3 are 4-pin BM camera ports. CH2 is intended for a DSM (driver-facing) camera; check camera compatibility with Hikvision before ordering.

Industry Dash Camera FAQ – AE-DI2032-G40

It is a 1080p 4G industry dash camera for commercial vehicles with a 2.1 mm, 127° built-in camera, support for two extra TVI cameras, Wi-Fi, GPS/GLONASS, dual microSD slots, ADAS and DSM alerts, and HikCentral Professional connectivity.

A SIM is needed only for 4G functions such as live view and event upload to a platform. Hikvision specifies an industrial-grade micro SIM; ordinary consumer SIM cards are not supported.

Up to three video channels: the built-in 1080p camera plus two 720p TVI extension cameras (or one 1080p TVI camera) through its 4-pin BM camera ports.

ADAS covers forward collision, pedestrian collision, lane departure, headway monitoring, traffic sign recognition, traffic light detection and forward car leaving. DSM covers phone use, smoking, inattention, fatigue, occlusion, IR-blocking sunglasses and seat belt use, and needs a driver-facing camera.

It has two microSD slots, each up to 512 GB. Hikvision recommends Class 10 or faster cards.

Yes. It accepts 11.8–16 VDC or 23.5–36 VDC, which covers 12 V and 24 V vehicle systems, and draws under 12 W.

No. It is rated IP4X and Hikvision notes it is not waterproof, so it is designed for mounting inside the cab.

Professional overview

The Hikvision AE-DI2032-G40 is an industry dash camera from Hikvision’s onboard security range, built for commercial fleets rather than private cars. It records the road ahead in 1080p through a 2.1 mm wide-angle lens with a 127° horizontal view, overlays GPS location and speed on the footage, and records to two microSD cards of up to 512 GB each.

The unit is expandable to three channels: two 4-pin BM ports accept 720p TVI extension cameras (or one 1080p TVI camera), typically a driver-facing DSM camera and a rear or cabin camera. A built-in microphone records cabin audio, and the speaker gives voice alerts of up to 1.5 W. A six-axis G-sensor tags harsh acceleration, braking and cornering, and two alarm inputs can be wired to a panic button.

Its smart functions combine ADAS warnings (forward collision, pedestrian collision, lane departure, headway monitoring, traffic sign and traffic light detection) with DSM driver-status alerts for phone use, smoking, fatigue, inattention and seat belt use. Over 4G with an industrial SIM, the dash camera connects to HikCentral Professional through ISUP 5.0 for live view, playback and event upload, while the HAT-Dashcam app handles set-up over Wi-Fi.

The 123 × 85 × 38.9 mm body weighs about 270 g and runs from 11.8–16 V or 23.5–36 V, so it suits both 12 V and 24 V vehicles. It is rated IP4X for in-cabin use and operates from −20 °C to 60 °C. It comes with the full Hikvision manufacturer’s warranty. Australian stock from ARC IP Networks.
