Professional Overview

The Ubiquiti UVC-AI-MS-4-W UniFi Protect Camera 32MP White AI Multi Sensor 4 is part of the Ubiquiti UniFi ecosystem, designed to integrate natively with the UniFi platform for unified, single-pane management. All-weather PoE++ 32MP multi-sensor camera featuring a Multi-TOPS AI engine, 2.33× optical zoom, 360° IR coverage, and four independently adjustable lenses for seamless wide-area and close-up monitoring.

It installs into an existing UniFi deployment with auto-adoption and is managed from the UniFi app alongside your network, cameras and access devices — no separate controller or licence fees.

Built to Ubiquiti's commercial-grade standards for reliable continuous operation.

ARC IP Networks supplies it as genuine Australian stock with local warranty and support, available for store pickup or shipping Australia-wide.

AI Multi-Sensor 4 vs G6 180 vs G6 Pro 360 — Covering More With One Camera

The UniFi AI Multi-Sensor 4 puts four independent 8MP 4K sensors in one weatherproof housing, each with its own 2.33× optical zoom and separately aimable — so a single mounting point, a single cable and a single PoE++ port can cover an intersection, a forecourt or four separate approaches at full 4K. The alternatives take a different approach: the G6 180 stitches two sensors into one 16MP panorama, and the G6 Pro 360 uses a fisheye lens for a complete hemisphere.

Choose the AI Multi-Sensor 4 where several directions need genuine identification-grade detail from one mounting point — a car park entry and exit, a crossroads, a loading dock with multiple approaches, or a building corner where a panorama would waste pixels on sky and wall. Choose the G6 180 for a continuous wide view along a frontage, and the G6 Pro 360 for rooms, lobbies and warehouse aisles. Compare the full range in our UniFi Protect camera guide. Frequently Asked Questions — Ubiquiti AI Multi-Sensor 4

What is the Ubiquiti AI Multi-Sensor 4?

The UniFi AI Multi-Sensor 4 is a 4K multi-sensor camera with four independent 8MP sensors in one IP66 housing, each with 2.33x optical zoom and aimed separately. It covers up to four directions from a single mounting point over one PoE++ cable, with 20 m infrared night vision and local storage via two microSD slots and an M.2 SATA SSD slot.

Why use a multi-sensor camera instead of four separate cameras?

One mounting point, one cable run and one PoE port instead of four - which on a pole, a corner or a high mount is a substantial saving in installation cost and cabling. It also keeps the four views mechanically aligned and lets each sensor be aimed independently at what matters, rather than accepting the fixed coverage of a panoramic lens.

How is it different from the G6 180 and G6 Pro 360?

The G6 180 stitches two 8MP sensors into a single 16MP panorama across a fixed 180-degree arc. The G6 Pro 360 uses a 12MP fisheye lens to cover a complete hemisphere. The AI Multi-Sensor 4 keeps its four 8MP sensors independent and separately aimable with optical zoom on each, so you get four full 4K views pointed exactly where you need them rather than one wide image.

What power does the AI Multi-Sensor 4 need?

PoE++ (802.3bt, up to 60 W) over a single GbE Ethernet cable. Check that your switch supports PoE++ on that port - many switches with large total budgets top out at PoE+ (30 W) per port and cannot run it.

Does it have local storage?

Yes. It has two microSD card slots and an M.2 2280 SATA SSD slot for on-camera storage, alongside recording to your UniFi Protect console or NVR.

Is it suitable for outdoor Australian conditions?

Yes. It is IP66-rated for fully exposed outdoor mounting, which handles Australian rain and dust. As with any outdoor camera, consider heat on west-facing or unshaded mounts and use stainless fixings in coastal areas.

Where can I buy the Ubiquiti AI Multi-Sensor 4 in Australia?

The UVC-AI-MS-4-W carries Ubiquiti's Enhanced AI tier, which runs detection on the camera itself rather than on the recorder — so adding cameras does not eat into the console's processing headroom.

The UVC-AI-MS-4-W is powered over Ethernet (PoE++, up to 34.6W), so a single cable carries both data and power. Budget that draw on the switch — PoE budget is shared across all powered ports. See the UniFi switch range for a switch with enough headroom.

The microSD slot gives the camera local storage, which keeps recording if the link to the console drops and then backfills. It is a resilience feature, not a replacement for the recorder.

Who the UVC-AI-MS-4-W suits

  • Intersections, forecourts and open yards needing four directions from one mount
  • Sites where every additional camera means another cable pull and another switch port
  • Large areas where a single lens always leaves a blind spot

What the UVC-AI-MS-4-W needs to record

Every UniFi Protect camera records to a UniFi Protect console — a Network Video Recorder, or a Cloud Gateway or Dream Machine that runs Protect. The camera does not record to the cloud and there is no subscription: footage stays on the drive you supply.

If you are still choosing a recorder, our UniFi Protect NVR comparison covers the range, and the storage sizing guide works out how much disk you need for the number of cameras and retention you want. The full shopping list covers the drives, switch and cabling that go with it, and putting the feed on a TV covers live wall displays.
