Choose the Pro XG 24 PoE when your access layer is going multi-gigabit — WiFi 7 APs like the UniFi E7 (10 GbE, PoE++) and high-power cameras plug straight in at full speed, with headroom on the 25G uplinks back to your gateway. Choose the Pro Max 24 PoE for standard 2.5 GbE deployments, and the Pro XG 8 PoE for small sites needing 10G PoE. Browse the full range on our Ubiquiti UniFi switches guide. Frequently Asked Questions — Ubiquiti USW-Pro-XG-24-PoE

What is the Ubiquiti USW-Pro-XG-24-PoE?

The USW-Pro-XG-24-PoE is a professional 24-port Layer 3 UniFi PoE switch with (16) 10 GbE and (8) 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports, (2) 25G SFP28 uplinks, a 720W total PoE budget and up to 90W PoE+++ per port, delivering 460 Gbps switching capacity with Etherlighting port indication.

How much PoE power does the Pro XG 24 PoE deliver?

It provides a 720W total PoE budget across its 24 RJ45 ports, supporting PoE (15.4W), PoE+ (30W), PoE++ (60W) and PoE+++ (90W) per port - enough for WiFi 7 access points, PTZ cameras, and high-draw devices simultaneously.

What is the difference between the Pro XG 24 PoE and Pro Max 24 PoE?

The Pro XG 24 PoE steps up to 10 GbE access ports (16 of them), 25G SFP28 uplinks, a 720W PoE budget and 90W PoE+++ - roughly four times the switching capacity of the Pro Max 24 PoE (112 vs 460 Gbps), which offers 2.5 GbE ports, 400W of PoE and 10G uplinks for standard-density sites.

Which access points and cameras can it power?

With 90W PoE+++ available per port and 10 GbE speeds, it powers any current UniFi device - including the E7 WiFi 7 access point (PoE++, 10 GbE uplink), AI-series and PTZ cameras, and the AI Key - each over a single cable.

Does the Pro XG 24 PoE support Layer 3 routing?

Yes. It is a Layer 3 switch supporting inter-VLAN routing with up to 1,000 VLANs, managed through the UniFi Network application with no licensing fees.

Does it support redundant power?

Yes. Alongside its internal 870W power supply, it accepts a USP-RPS DC input for redundant power - recording and WiFi stay up if the primary supply fails.

Ubiquiti USW-Pro-XG-24-PoE: Layer 3 Etherlighting switch

The Switch Pro XG 24 PoE is a Layer 3 UniFi switch offering 720W of PoE, 230 Gbps of non-blocking throughput, 460 Gbps switching capacity.

Port layout is 8 × 2.5 GbE RJ45, 16 × 10 GbE RJ45, 2 × 25G SFP28.

Etherlighting ports illuminate to show port location, speed and link state, and the native VLAN — genuinely useful when tracing a patch lead in a busy rack. Ubiquiti recommends pairing them with UniFi Etherlighting patch cables for best brightness.

Total PoE availability is 720W, which is the budget shared across all powered ports — not a per-port figure. Add up the draw of everything you intend to power before committing; our access point comparison lists the consumption of each UniFi AP.
