The reader has a 12 MP (3072 × 4096) camera with a field of view of H: 98.6°, V: 125.7°, D: 157.8°, and a maximum frame rate of 30 FPS. A 120 mm diagonal capacitive touch screen in portrait orientation shows a typical 480 nits, and a proximity sensor is built in. It also has R/G/B/W/Amber LEDs. The UniFi application suite listed for it is Protect / Access.

Built for indoor and outdoor doors

The enclosure is polycarbonate and glass with an aluminium alloy mount, and the unit has IP55 weather resistance. The device operates from -30 to 45° C, and the display from -10 to 45° C. It weighs 136 g. A gang-box mount is included, and an angle mount or junction box is optional. NFC read range is under 30 mm, and the reader supports a wide range of NFC card technologies, including MIFARE Classic and MIFARE DESFire.

Powered and connected over PoE

The reader connects to a UniFi Access Hub using PoE through its (1) GbE RJ45 port. Maximum power consumption is 6W on a 48V DC supply. It also carries BLE 4.2 and NFC connectivity, and ESD/EMP protection of air ± 15kV and contact ± 8kV. Certifications listed are CE, FCC, IC, SRRC, UL 294 and CAN/ULC-60839-11-1.
