The TP-Link TX301 is a 5 Gigabit PCI Express network adapter that adds one RJ45 port supporting 5 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 1 Gbps, 100 Mbps and 10 Mbps to a PC or server through a PCIe 3.1 x1 slot. It comes with standard and low-profile brackets and a 1.5 m Cat6A cable, and supports Windows 11 and 10 and Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025.

TX301 overview

The TX301 is TP-Link's 5 Gigabit PCI Express network adapter, also described by TP-Link as a PCIe 3.1 slot to 5 Gigabit network adapter. It installs in a PCI Express 3.1 x1 slot and provides one RJ45 Ethernet port that supports data rates of 5 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 1 Gbps, 100 Mbps and 10 Mbps. Supported network media are 5GBASE-T, 2.5GBASE-T, 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 10BASE-Te, and the card complies with IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3bz, IEEE 802.3ab, IEEE 802.3u and IEEE 802.3x. With that range of rates on a single port, the TX301 covers 5G and 2.5G multi-gigabit connections as well as gigabit, 100 Mbps and 10 Mbps connections.

TP-Link includes the parts needed for installation. Both a standard bracket and a low-profile bracket are in the box, so the card can be fitted to full-height and low-profile cases, and a 1.5 m Cat6A Ethernet cable is included for the network connection. The card measures 120.8 x 78.5 x 21.5 mm (4.8 x 3.1 x 0.8 in). A Quick Installation Guide is included as well. Two LEDs show the connection: one is labelled for 5G links and the other for 2.5G-and-below links, so you can check which group of speeds the adapter is connected at by looking at the card.

Supported operating systems are Windows 11 and Windows 10, and Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2022 and Windows Server 2025. That means the same adapter is listed for current Windows desktop systems and for four generations of Windows Server. IEEE 802.3x flow control is supported. If you are adding the TX301 to a machine running any other operating system, check TP-Link's current system requirements and driver downloads for that system before ordering.

The TX301 is rated for operation from 0 °C to 40 °C at 10% to 90% non-condensing humidity, with storage humidity of 5% to 90% non-condensing. Certifications listed by TP-Link are FCC, CE, IC, NCC, JRF, VCCI and BSMI. In the box are the TX301 5 Gigabit PCIe Network Adapter, standard and low-profile brackets, a Quick Installation Guide and a 1.5 m Cat6A Ethernet cable. ARC IP Networks supplies the TX301 from Australian stock with the full manufacturer's warranty.
