The TP-Link TL-SL1311P is an 8-port 10/100 Mbps + 3-port gigabit desktop switch with 8-port PoE+ and a 65 W PoE supply. Ports 1 to 8 are 802.3af/at PoE+, and two gigabit RJ45 ports and one gigabit SFP port provide uplinks. Buttons enable Extend Mode (up to 250 m), Isolation Mode and PoE Auto Recovery. It is fanless, with a physical security lock.

TL-SL1311P overview

The TL-SL1311P is TP-Link's 8-Port 10/100Mbps + 3-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch with 8-Port PoE+, hardware version V1. Its eight 10/100 Mbps ports are 802.3af/at PoE+ ports (ports 1 to 8), and it has two gigabit RJ45 ports and one gigabit SFP port for uplinks, all with auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX. The total PoE power supply is 65 W, from an external adapter rated 53.5 V DC / 1.31 A.

The 65 W supply is what separates it from the TL-SL1311MP, which has identical ports, buttons and case but a 124 W supply. The TL-SL1311P is the better fit when the connected devices draw less in total; when combined demand is higher, the TL-SL1311MP gives nearly twice the PoE. TP-Link lists the TL-SL1311P's maximum consumption as 5.61 W with no PD connected (220 V/50 Hz) and 77.32 W with 65 W of PDs (110 V/50 Hz), with heat dissipation of 19.13 and 263.7 BTU/h.

Three buttons control the advanced features: Extend Mode on ports 1 to 4 and ports 1 to 8, providing up to 250 m of PoE power supply and data transmission; Isolation Mode on ports 1 to 8; and PoE Auto Recovery on ports 1 to 8. MAC address auto-learning and auto-aging and IEEE 802.3x flow control with half-duplex backpressure are also listed. There is no software to set up.

Performance figures are 7.6 Gbps switching capacity, a 5.6544 Mpps forwarding rate, a 2K MAC table and 16 KB jumbo frames. The switch is fanless, has a physical security lock and measures 209 x 126 x 26 mm. It is rated for 0 to 40 °C operation and -40 to 70 °C storage and is FCC and CE certified. The package contains the TL-SL1311P, the power adapter and an installation guide.
