The TP-Link Deco XE75 (2-pack) is an AXE5400 tri-band mesh Wi-Fi 6E system of two Deco XE75 units, which TP-Link rates for mesh coverage up to 5,500 sq ft and 3-5 bedroom houses. Each unit runs 2402 Mbps on 6 GHz, 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, has three gigabit WAN/LAN auto-sensing ports, and adds HomeShield security, VPN server and client support and Deco app management.

Deco XE75 (2-pack) overview

The Deco XE75 (2-pack) puts two Deco XE75 units to work as one AXE5400 tri-band mesh Wi-Fi 6E network. TP-Link gives the 2-pack mesh Wi-Fi coverage of up to 5,500 sq ft and sizes it for 3-5 bedroom houses, compared with 2,900 sq ft for a single unit and 7,200 sq ft for the 3-pack. The box holds two Deco XE75 units, one RJ45 Ethernet cable, two power adapters and a quick installation guide. The headline feature is the 6 GHz band: TP-Link says Wi-Fi 6E more than doubles the available spectrum, and that the clean 6 GHz band and added 160 MHz channels remove interference from legacy devices. Its footnotes add that Wi-Fi 6E allows for seven additional 160 MHz channels, offering up to 1,200 MHz of additional spectrum for 6 GHz Wi-Fi, and that the 160 MHz bandwidth may be unavailable in the 5 GHz band in some regions due to regulatory restrictions.

Per unit, the Deco XE75 lists 2402 Mbps on 6 GHz (802.11ax, HE160), 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz (802.11ax, HE160) and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, which TP-Link totals as up to 5,400 Mbps for 200 devices. With two units, the backhaul matters: TP-Link says the 6 GHz band is used together with the other bands as the wireless backhaul between the Deco units, giving the most stable and strongest network, and that this also improves overall Wi-Fi performance for non-6E devices. Ethernet backhaul is optional. Capacity is listed as very high, with tri-band distribution of devices, 2x2 MU-MIMO, OFDMA, six streams, beamforming and four internal high-gain antennas. These are maximum wireless signal rates, and TP-Link notes that throughput, coverage and device counts vary with network conditions, client limitations and building materials.

Each Deco XE75 has three gigabit Ethernet ports with WAN/LAN auto-sensing and a reset button, so the 2-pack gives you six gigabit ports across the two units. It works in router mode or access point mode, with Dynamic IP, Static IP, PPPoE, PPTP and L2TP WAN types, and TP-Link describes it as backward compatible with all Wi-Fi generations and working with any internet service provider and modem, though some users may need an extra modem compatible with their provider. AI-Driven Mesh uses TP-Link's custom algorithms to automate the connections between the two units and keep one network name and password across the home, and mesh features include IEEE 802.11k/v/r, true seamless roaming, adaptive path selection and self-healing. TP-Link notes clients need to support 802.11k/v/r and may need additional setup.

Software features listed for the XE75 include reboot schedule, Tapo/Kasa onboarding, a separate IoT network with device isolation, static routing and node/band connection preference. Guest networks run on 6 GHz, 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz with effective time and bandwidth control, and OpenVPN, PPTP and L2TP/IPSec are supported as both VPN server and VPN client. HomeShield covers real-time IoT protection, a malicious site blocker, intrusion prevention, DDoS attack prevention and a home network scanner, alongside parental controls with custom profiles, content filtering, bedtime, time rewards and weekly and monthly reports; it includes the free Basic Plan and fees apply for the Pro Plan. Setup is connect, download and configure in the Deco app, and Alexa voice control is supported. Each unit measures 105 x 105 x 169 mm and operates from 0 to 40 C. The Deco XE75 differs from the Deco XE75 Pro in its ports: three gigabit ports here, against one 2.5 Gbps and two gigabit ports on the Pro.
