The TP-Link Tapo T315 is a smart temperature and humidity monitor with a 2.7-inch E-ink display that shows readings, a comfort-level face, battery and signal at a glance. It uses a Swiss-made sensor (±0.3 °C, ±3% RH, 2-second refresh), sends app alerts, automates heaters, fans and humidifiers through Tapo devices, and runs on two AAA batteries. A Tapo Hub is required for its smart features.

Tapo T315 overview

The Tapo T315 is the Tapo climate monitor you can read without a phone. Its 2.7-inch E-ink display, which TP-Link says reads like real paper, shows temperature and humidity in large bold numbers along with a comfort level shown as a facial expression, the battery condition and the signal. TP-Link lists four display qualities: reflective and easy on the eyes with low power consumption, clear and sharp enough to read from metres away, a wide viewing angle, and no glare even in bright sunlight. Press the side button once to switch the temperature unit, or twice to swap the positions of temperature and humidity on screen.

There is one condition on the screen: it only displays temperatures from 0 to 50 °C. The sensor itself measures -20 to 60 °C and 0-99% RH, so readings beyond the display range are checked in the Tapo app. The Swiss-made sensor has a typical accuracy of ±3% RH and ±0.3 °C and updates every 2 seconds. The comfort level indicator keeps the room's comfort visible at a glance, and you can customise your comfort zones in the Tapo app.

The smart features run through a Tapo Hub, which TP-Link says is required to support remote monitoring, home automation, data export and more. The app sends an alert when conditions fall outside your preset range, as in TP-Link's "Wine Cellar" example. The T315 can switch appliances connected to Tapo devices on and off, such as heaters, fans and humidifiers, to keep a room comfortable and help with energy bills. Up to 2 years of cloud data logging is stored free and can be exported to a CSV file sent to your email. The Tapo H200 page lists the T315 as a supported sensor and counts it as two devices because it measures both temperature and humidity.

Two AAA (LR03) batteries power the T315, and TP-Link says they last up to 2 years, a figure based on its laboratory results under normal use, with actual life varying by working conditions. Place it on a table or shelf, stick it to a wall with the included adhesive, or attach it to a metallic surface; TP-Link suggests locations such as a cigar humidor, reptile tank, greenhouse, storeroom, baby room, office or kitchen. The T315 measures 62 x 62 x 24.5 mm and uses 922 MHz. The package contains the Tapo T315, two AAA/LR03 batteries, 3M adhesive and a quick start guide.

Tapo T315 compared

TP-Link positions the T315 as the display model alongside the screenless T310. Both share the Swiss-made sensor, accuracy and refresh rate; the T315 adds the 2.7-inch E-ink screen and side button, runs on AAA batteries instead of a coin cell, and is the larger unit. Figures are as each TP-Link AU page states them.
