The TP-Link SG2210XMP-M2 is an Omada 8-port 2.5GBASE-T and 2-port 10GE SFP+ smart switch with 8-port PoE+. All eight 2.5 Gbps RJ45 ports are 802.3at/af PoE+ with a 160 W total budget, and two 10G SFP+ slots handle uplinks. It has 80 Gbps switching, static routing, VLAN, ACL and QoS, a fanless desktop or wall-mount case, and centralised management through an Omada controller.

SG2210XMP-M2 overview

The SG2210XMP-M2 is TP-Link's Omada 8-port 2.5GBASE-T and 2-port 10GE SFP+ smart switch with 8-port PoE+; TP-Link's V1.20 datasheet titles it Omada Access Pro 8-Port 2.5G and 2-Port 10GE SFP+ Switch with 8-Port PoE+, and the AU page lists hardware V1. The -M2 suffix marks TP-Link's multi-gigabit models: instead of Gigabit, all eight RJ45 ports run at 100/1000/2500 Mbps, and every one of them is an 802.3at/af PoE+ port. TP-Link describes it as ideal for connecting multi-gigabit Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6 access points, where a single Gigabit port would cap the access point's wired throughput. Two 10 Gbps SFP+ slots carry that aggregated traffic upstream to a core switch, gateway or NAS.

The PoE budget is 160 W across the eight PoE+ ports, which TP-Link positions for wireless access points, surveillance cameras, IP phones and other PoE devices. TP-Link notes that PoE budget figures are based on laboratory testing and the actual budget is not guaranteed. Power comes from an included 53.5 VDC / 3.37 A external adapter. Maximum power consumption is 180.1 W at 110 V/60 Hz with 160 W of PDs connected, and the datasheet lists 15.0 W standby. Switching capacity is 80 Gbps with a 59.52 Mpps forwarding rate, a 16K MAC table, 12 Mbit packet buffer and 9 KB jumbo frames. TP-Link's datasheet recommends using a maximum of one 10G RJ45 SFP+ module (SM5310-T) at a time.

Physically it is a compact fanless unit for quiet spaces: 226 x 131 x 35 mm and 1.13 kg according to the datasheet, with a physical security lock slot. The AU page lists desktop and wall mounting; the datasheet adds rack mounting with the RackMount Kit-D226, which is not included and is sold separately. The AU page lists operating temperature as 0 to 40 degrees C; the datasheet lists -5 to 40 degrees C. In the box are the switch, the power adapter, a quick installation guide and rubber feet.

Software features match TP-Link's Omada smart switch platform. L2+ functions include 32 IPv4/IPv6 interfaces, 32 static routes, DHCP server, DHCP interface and VLAN relay, DHCP L2 relay and static, proxy and gratuitous ARP. VLAN support covers 4K groups, 802.1Q, MAC VLAN, protocol VLAN, GVRP and voice VLAN, with 8-queue QoS, IGMP snooping, MVR and 511 shared multicast groups. Security includes up to 230 ACL entries, IP-MAC-port binding, AAA, 802.1X with MAB and guest VLAN, RADIUS, DHCP and DHCPv6 snooping, ARP inspection and IP source guard. Standalone management covers web GUI, CLI through Telnet, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, RMON, dual image and cable diagnostics. Through an Omada hardware, software or cloud-based controller it adds cloud access, the Omada app, automatic discovery, batch configuration and firmware upgrades and abnormal event warnings; Zero-Touch Provisioning requires the Omada cloud-based controller.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the SG2210XMP-M2 from the ARC IP Networks team.

Last reviewed October 2026.

All eight 2.5 Gbps RJ45 ports are 802.3at/af PoE+, sharing a 160 W total budget. TP-Link notes the budget is based on laboratory testing and is not guaranteed.

It marks TP-Link's multi-gigabit models. On the SG2210XMP-M2 the RJ45 ports run at 100/1000/2500 Mbps rather than Gigabit only.

Two 10 Gbps SFP+ slots. TP-Link recommends using a maximum of one 10G RJ45 SFP+ module (SM5310-T) at a time.

Yes. It is fanless for quiet operation.

The AU page lists desktop and wall mounting. The datasheet adds rack mounting with the RackMount Kit-D226, which is not included and must be purchased separately.

No for standalone use via web GUI, CLI and SNMP. Centralised cloud management and the Omada app need an Omada hardware, software or cloud-based controller, and Zero-Touch Provisioning needs the cloud-based controller.

By the included 53.5 VDC / 3.37 A external power adapter.

Both have eight 2.5G PoE+ ports and two 10G SFP+ slots. The SG3210XHP-M2 is a rackmount L2+ switch with a 240 W budget, internal AC power, two fans and console ports; the SG2210XMP-M2 is fanless with a 160 W budget and an external adapter.

The switch, a power adapter, a quick installation guide and rubber feet.
