Professional Overview

The MikroTik RB960PGS-PB PowerBox Pro is a robust and highly versatile outdoor router, meticulously engineered to provide reliable network connectivity and efficient power delivery in demanding outdoor environments. This compact device features five Gigabit Ethernet ports, a powerful 800 MHz CPU, and 128 MB of RAM, making it an ideal solution for Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs), outdoor surveillance systems, and remote network deployments that require stable performance and Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities.

At its core, the PowerBox Pro is designed for maximum utility. It features Passive PoE-in on Ethernet Port 1, allowing the router itself to be powered directly over the Ethernet cable, simplifying installation in locations where direct power outlets are scarce. Crucially, ports 2 through 5 offer Passive PoE-out, enabling the PowerBox Pro to power up to four compatible PoE-enabled devices such as IP cameras, outdoor wireless access points, or other CPEs directly from the router. This significantly reduces cabling complexity, minimizes infrastructure costs, and streamlines power management in outdoor installations, enhancing deployment flexibility.

The RB960PGS-PB is housed in a durable, weather-resistant outdoor enclosure, built to withstand challenging environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures (from -40°C to +70°C), rain, snow, and dust. This ensures continuous and reliable operation year-round, minimizing maintenance requirements and maximizing network uptime for critical applications. The all-Gigabit Ethernet ports guarantee high-speed data transfer for connected devices, preventing bottlenecks and ensuring a responsive network experience.

Running MikroTik's industry-leading RouterOS with a Level 4 license, the PowerBox Pro offers an extensive suite of networking functionalities. Network administrators gain granular control over advanced routing protocols, robust firewall capabilities, Quality of Service (QoS) for traffic prioritization, comprehensive VPN support, and extensive VLAN management. This powerful combination of robust hardware, versatile PoE capabilities, and sophisticated software makes the MikroTik RB960PGS-PB PowerBox Pro an indispensable asset for building resilient, high-bandwidth outdoor networks with superior control, efficient power distribution, and long-term operational stability. It is a strategic investment for extending network reach and ensuring consistent performance in diverse professional environments.
