The TP-Link POE10R (TL-POE10R) is an Omada PoE splitter that fully complies with IEEE 802.3af and works with any 802.3af-compliant PSE or PoE supplier adapter, such as the TL-SF1008P or POE150S. It splits the incoming PoE feed into data plus a selectable 12VDC, 9VDC or 5VDC power output, so devices like access points, IP cameras or IP phones can be installed where there is no power outlet. It has two 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 ports with Auto MDI/MDIX, delivers power up to 100 metres and is plug-and-play with no configuration required. Supplied by ARC IP Networks from Australian stock with the full manufacturer's warranty.

The TP-Link Omada POE10R (TL-POE10R) is a gigabit PoE splitter that takes IEEE 802.3af PoE from a switch or injector and splits it into data plus a selectable 12 V, 9 V or 5 V DC output, so a device without PoE, such as an access point, IP camera or IP phone, can be installed where there is no power outlet. It delivers power up to 100 m and is plug and play.

POE10R overview

The POE10R, also known as the TL-POE10R, is TP-Link's Omada PoE splitter. It fully complies with the IEEE 802.3af standard and works with any IEEE 802.3af-compliant PSE (power source equipment) or PoE supplier adapter; TP-Link names its TL-SF1008P and POE150S as examples, along with other equivalent products. The splitter receives power and data together on one Ethernet cable, then separates them: data continues to your device through a gigabit LAN port, and power is delivered as direct current through a separate DC output port. TP-Link's purpose for it is to deliver 12 V, 9 V or 5 V DC to places where there is no power line or outlet, where you want to install a device such as an access point, IP camera or IP phone.

The DC output is selectable. The POE10R can supply 12 V DC at 1 A, 9 V DC at 1 A, or 5 V DC at 2 A, so you set it to match the input your device expects. Check the voltage and current rating on your device's own power adapter before connecting it, and choose the matching output. The splitter is compatible with IEEE 802.3af-compliant PSEs and delivers power up to 100 metres, the same maximum cable length listed for 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T Ethernet. A PWR LED is fitted.

Data runs at gigabit speed. The POE10R has two 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-negotiation RJ45 ports, one Power+Data In port from the PoE switch or injector and one LAN Out port to your device, with Auto MDI/MDIX, plus the 5 V / 9 V / 12 V DC Out power output port. It conforms to IEEE 802.3i, 802.3u, 802.3ab and 802.3af. TP-Link specifies UTP or STP cable of Category 5 or above, based on the standards that the connected devices comply with, and lists Category 5, 5e and 6 cable up to 100 m for 1000BASE-T. It is plug and play, with no configuration required, and it carries CE and FCC certifications.

The splitter is compact at 80.8 x 54 x 24 mm (3.2 x 2.1 x 0.9 in). Storage temperature is -40 to 70 °C, with operating humidity of 10 to 90 % non-condensing and storage humidity of 5 to 90 % non-condensing. In the box are the POE10R, a power cord and an installation guide, and the datasheet and support files are published by TP-Link. Use it to bring a non-PoE camera, access point or phone onto an existing 802.3af PoE switch without running mains power to the mounting point. ARC IP Networks supplies the POE10R from Australian stock with the full manufacturer's warranty.
