The Mercusys MT110 is a battery-powered 4G LTE mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. Insert a nano SIM, press the power button and it shares 4G at up to 150 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload with up to 10 devices over 150 Mbps 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Its 2200 mAh battery is rated for up to 10 hours, and it charges over USB-C.

MT110 overview

The MT110 is a pocket-sized mobile Wi-Fi rather than a mains-powered router. Mercusys designed it as a travel companion for business trips, outdoor activities and work on the road: insert a nano SIM, press the power button, and within about half a minute it is sharing 4G with your phones, tablets and laptops. The case is 111 x 70 x 23.8 mm with internal antennas, a power button, a reset button and Wi-Fi, internet and battery LEDs.

Mercusys rates the 4G LTE connection at up to 150 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload. It notes that maximum 4G download speed depends on local network coverage, the data plan, real-time network capacity, client limitations and environmental factors. The MT110 supports FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE as well as 3G, and the AU page lists FDD-LTE B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20/B28 (2100/1800/850/2600/900/800/700 MHz), TDD-LTE B38/B40 (2600/2300 MHz) and HSPA+/UMTS B1/B5/B8 (2100/850/900 MHz). Check these against your provider's network before choosing a SIM.

Wi-Fi runs on 2.4 GHz at a 150 Mbps maximum signal rate, with transmit power under 20 dBm. Up to 10 devices can share the connection at the same time. The signal rate is a physical rate from IEEE 802.11; actual throughput, coverage and number of connected devices depend on network conditions, clients and surroundings. Security options are WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK, wireless MAC filtering and the ability to hide the network name by disabling SSID broadcast. A DHCP server and client list are built in.

The 2200 mAh battery is rated for up to 10 hours of use; Mercusys notes that battery life varies with the environment and how the device is used. Power and charging are through a single USB-C port at 5 V / 1 A, and the listed package contents are the MT110, a USB-C cable and a Quick Installation Guide; a wall charger is not listed. Mercusys lists operating temperatures of 0 to 35 °C and operating humidity of 0 to 75% non-condensing, and compatibility with Windows 11/10/8/7, macOS, Android and iOS devices. Setup and management are through the Mercusys app on Android or iOS.
