The Netgear MSM4328F in depth

A fibre core for AV networks

The MSM4328F gathers up to 24 SFP fibre links at 1G or 2.5G, making it a natural aggregation point for M4250 AV switches spread around a venue. Four combo ports give 10G uplinks over either 10GBASE-T copper or SFP+ fibre.

Broadcast timing in hardware

As one of the SMPTE-capable M4350 models, it provides PTP Boundary Clock and Grandmaster Clock modes with SMPTE 2059-2, AES67 and AES-R16-2016 profiles, alongside AVB, IGMP Plus and a colour-coded AV user interface with RGB LEDs under each port.

Redundant power option

A 240W internal PSU runs the switch, and a single modular bay takes an APS600Wv3, APS1200Wv2 or APS2000Wv2 for 1+1 power redundancy in critical installations.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the Netgear MSM4328F from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed October 2026.

The MSM4328F has 24 x 1G/2.5G SFP ports and 4 combo ports (25-28) that can be used as 10GBASE-T copper (100M to 10G) or as 1G/10G SFP+ fibre, for 28 usable ports.

No. It is a fibre aggregation model without PoE, with a 240W internal power supply and a 0 to 50°C operating range.

Its single modular slot accepts the APS600Wv3 (APS600W-300), APS1200Wv2 (APS1200W-200) or APS2000Wv2 (APS2000W-200) for 1+1 redundancy.

Netgear lists the AXM761, AXM762, AXM763 and AXM764 10G optics and the AGM731F, AGM732F and AGM734 1G modules as fitting M4350 SFP+ and SFP28 interfaces such as the combo SFP+ ports.

It is the 2.5G SFP fibre model. For 10G fibre access see the XSM4328FV (24 x SFP+, 4 x SFP28) or XSM4340FV (32 x SFP+, 8 x SFP28).
