The Netgear MSM4310 in depth

Half-width 2.5G PoE++ for AV

The MSM4310 is the smallest M4350 switch: a half-width 1U unit with eight 2.5G Ultra90 PoE++ ports and two 25G SFP28 uplinks. Each port has an RGB LED that shows the AV profile colour applied in the AV user interface or Engage, making patching and troubleshooting easier in busy racks.

Power that grows with the project

Instead of an internal supply, the switch runs from APS254W external adapters. One is included for a 119W PoE budget; adding a second gives 322W and a third gives 551W, with 1+1 or 2+1 redundancy. The PST4310 half-width tray can hold two adapters beside the switch.

Ready for SMPTE ST 2110

The MSM4310 is one of the M4350 models with a chipset capable of PTP Boundary Clock and Grandmaster Clock in hardware, supporting SMPTE 2059-2, AES67 and AES-R16-2016 profiles alongside IGMP Plus, AVB and the full Layer 3 feature set.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the Netgear MSM4310 from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed October 2026.

The MSM4310 has 8 Ultra90 PoE++ (802.3bt) ports at up to 90W each. The included APS254W adapter gives a 119W budget; two adapters give 322W and three give 551W.

No. It is powered by APS254W external adapters (C14, 110-240V AC). One is included, and its 3 DC connectors accept up to 3 adapters for more PoE and 1+1 or 2+1 redundancy.

The 2 SFP28 ports (ports 9-10) run at 10G only or 25G only in Ethernet mode, and at 25G when configured as stack ports. Netgear lists its 10G SFP+ optics and DAC cables as fitting M4350 SFP28 interfaces.

Yes. The half-width design (220 mm wide) lets one or two switches sit in a single 1U rack space, and the box includes a 2-switch pairing kit.

The MSM4320 (M4350-16M4V) has 16 x 2.5G PoE++ ports including 8 Neutrik etherCON, and the MSM4332 (M4350-24M4X4V) has 24 x 2.5G plus 4 x 10G PoE++ ports with up to 2,520W.
