The Mercusys MS110GMP is a 10-port Gigabit desktop switch with eight 802.3af/at PoE+ ports and two Gigabit uplinks. Each PoE+ port delivers up to 30 W from a 111 W budget, switching capacity is 20 Gbps, and mode buttons control Extend Mode (ports 1-4, 250 m), Priority Mode (ports 1-2) and Isolation Mode (ports 1-4 / 5-8).

MS110GMP overview

The MS110GMP is the Gigabit PoE version of the Mercusys ten-port desktop design. It has eight 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE+ ports and two 1000 Mbps RJ45 uplink ports, all with auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX. Ports 1-8 are 802.3af/at compliant and supply up to 30 W each, within a 111 W total budget. Mercusys points out that this budget is a lab-tested calculation and not guaranteed, varying with client limitations and environmental factors. Switching capacity is 20 Gbps with a 14.88 Mpps forwarding rate. The AU page lists V1.

Typical loads in Mercusys' examples are cameras, access points, phones, PCs and recorders across surveillance, office, dorm and small-business sites. Front-panel mode buttons set the behaviour. Extend Mode applies to ports 1-4 and stretches PoE power and data to 250 m; the ports then run at 10 Mbps and reach depends on device draw and cable type and quality. Priority Mode gives ports 1-2 high priority for sensitive applications such as voice and video. Isolation Mode creates two separate groups, ports 1-4 and ports 5-8.

PoE Auto Recovery covers ports 1-8: when a powered device stops sending packets to the switch for an extended time, the switch reboots it automatically. The MS110GMP needs no configuration. Mercusys lists IEEE 802.3x flow control for full duplex and backpressure for half duplex, a 4K MAC table with auto-learning and auto-aging, 16 KB jumbo frames and store-and-forward switching.

The fanless metal case reduces power consumption and noise, has a physical security lock slot, and sits on a desk or mounts on a wall. Size is 209 x 126 x 26 mm; the external adapter is rated 54 VDC / 2.22 A. Mercusys quotes 7.37 W maximum consumption with no load and 129.4 W with 111 W of devices attached (220 V / 50 Hz). Operating temperature is -10 to 40 °C, and it is CE and RoHS marked. The package holds the MS110GMP, a power adapter and an installation guide.
