The Mercusys MA37BEH is a BE6500 Wi-Fi 7 USB adapter with two external high-gain antennas. Mercusys lists 2882 Mbps on 6 GHz, 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz over a USB 3.0 connection, with a pre-loaded internal driver and WPA3-SAE. It supports Windows 11 and 10 (32/64-bit), but the 6 GHz band currently works only on Windows 11. It is a Wi-Fi adapter only, with no Bluetooth listed.

MA37BEH overview

Mercusys built the MA37BEH to bring Wi-Fi 7 to a computer through a USB port rather than an internal card. It is a BE6500 tri-band adapter with listed signal rates of 2882 Mbps on 6 GHz, 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. Mercusys describes the 6 GHz band as offering stronger interference resistance, 5 GHz faster speed and 2.4 GHz stronger penetration, and says the adapter suits multi-stream media playback and fast downloading. Supported standards are IEEE 802.11 ax/be on 6 GHz, 802.11 a/n/ac/ax/be on 5 GHz and 802.11 b/g/n/ac/ax/be on 2.4 GHz, and the page claims full backward compatibility with 802.11be/ax/ac/a/b/g/n. Those headline numbers are physical rates from the IEEE standard; actual throughput and range are not guaranteed and depend on network conditions, the access point and the surrounding environment.

Wi-Fi 7 features named for this adapter are 4K-QAM, which carries 12 bits per symbol rather than 10 for about 20% more data, and Multi-RUs, which Mercusys says make full use of every resource. MU-MIMO is listed for serving several devices at once without added latency or bandwidth congestion. Every one of these features, along with 160 MHz channels and OFDMA, depends on the access point supporting them as well, and 160 MHz channels may be limited in the 5 GHz or 6 GHz band by regional regulation. Mercusys publishes 802.11be reception sensitivity down to -91 dBm (40 MHz MCS0) on 2.4 GHz and -82 dBm (160 MHz MCS0) on both 5 GHz and 6 GHz.

Two external high-gain antennas with beamforming are designed to extend reach from your router with more focused coverage, which Mercusys says gives faster, steadier links over longer distances. The adapter connects through USB 3.0; Mercusys states USB 3.0 moves data up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0, remains backwards compatible, and together with 802.11be Wi-Fi suits HD streaming, online gaming and large downloads. Setup uses the driver stored on the adapter itself, so there is no CD to hunt for.

Windows 11 and Windows 10 are supported in 32-bit and 64-bit editions, with one important limit: Mercusys says the 6 GHz band is currently only available on Windows 11. It also cautions that functionality may be restricted on some operating systems and platforms, and that you may need to update the driver after an operating system update. Security options are WPA, WPA2, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK and WPA3-SAE; WPA3 needs an access point with WPA3 and may need a driver upgrade from the Mercusys website. The MA37BEH measures 77 x 45.2 x 12.4 mm and ships with a quick installation guide.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the MA37BEH from the ARC IP Networks team.

Last reviewed October 2026.

Not at present. Mercusys says the 6 GHz band is currently only available on Windows 11, so Windows 10 PCs use the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands.

Mercusys does not list Bluetooth for the MA37BEH; it is a Wi-Fi 7 USB adapter. The MA37BE PCIe card is the model that adds Bluetooth 5.4.

2882 Mbps on 6 GHz, 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. They are IEEE physical maximums rather than guaranteed throughput.

The MA37BEH carries a pre-loaded internal driver, so you install from the adapter after plugging it in. Mercusys suggests updating drivers after an operating system update.

Mercusys describes USB 3.0 as backwards compatible. A USB 3.0 port gives up to 10 times the transfer speed of USB 2.0.

Wi-Fi 7, 4K-QAM, Multi-RUs, 160 MHz, OFDMA and MU-MIMO all need an access point that supports the same features.

Yes, WPA3-SAE along with WPA, WPA2, WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK. WPA3 needs a WPA3 access point and you may need to upgrade the driver.
