The Mercusys MA37BE is a BE6500 Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 card that installs in a desktop PC's PCIe slot. Mercusys lists tri-band signal rates of 2882 Mbps on 6 GHz, 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, two fixed omnidirectional antennas and WPA3-SAE security. It supports Windows 11 (64-bit) only, is not compatible with Windows 10, and its Bluetooth needs the supplied header cable connected to a USB 2.0 header on the motherboard.

MA37BE overview

The MA37BE is a BE6500 Wi-Fi 7 Bluetooth 5.4 PCIe adapter, a single card that adds both next-generation Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to a desktop computer. Mercusys positions it as a way to arm your PC with Wi-Fi 7 and the 6 GHz band for low latency, smooth streaming and stable connections in real-time gaming and immersive VR. Its listed tri-band signal rates are 2882 Mbps on 6 GHz, 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. The wireless standards Mercusys lists are IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax/be on 6 GHz and 5 GHz and IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax/be on 2.4 GHz. The rates are physical maximums taken from the IEEE 802.11 specifications; Mercusys does not guarantee throughput, coverage or the number of connected devices, which change with network conditions, access point limits, building materials, obstacles, traffic and where the access point sits.

Wi-Fi 7 on this card uses 4K-QAM and Multi-RUs. Mercusys explains that with 4K-QAM each symbol carries 12 bits instead of the 10 bits of 1K-QAM used by Wi-Fi 6, packing in 20% more data, while Multi-RUs make fuller use of available resources to raise transmission efficiency. MU-MIMO and OFDMA are also listed. All of these, along with 160 MHz bandwidth and Wi-Fi 6E/6 operation, only work when the access point supports the same features, and Mercusys warns that some regions do not make every 160 MHz channel available in the 5 GHz or 6 GHz band. Published reception sensitivity includes -86 dBm (HE160 MCS0) and -56 dBm (HE160 MCS11) on 6 GHz, -90 dBm (HE80 MCS0) on 5 GHz and -91 dBm (HE40 MCS0) on 2.4 GHz.

Bluetooth 5.4 is built in, and Mercusys says it brings rock-solid stability, broader coverage and ultra-low latency data transfers compared with Bluetooth 4.x. To enable full Bluetooth functionality, connect the included Bluetooth header cable from the card to a USB 2.0 header on your motherboard. Mercusys also cautions that features such as Bluetooth 5.4 may be restricted on some computing systems and platforms, and suggests updating the driver for feature compatibility.

Coverage comes from two fixed high-performance omnidirectional antennas that Mercusys says strengthen signal transmission and reception for a smooth connection from farther away. Mercusys points out that because those antennas are fixed, the MA37BE is not compatible with a low-profile bracket. Security options are WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK and WPA3-SAE, and WPA3 needs a matching access point. Operating system support is Windows 11 (64-bit) only: Mercusys states plainly that the MA37BE is not compatible with Windows 10. The card measures 228 x 120.8 x 21.5 mm and is rated for 0 to 40 °C operation at 10% to 90% non-condensing humidity. The box contains the adapter, a Bluetooth header cable, a quick installation guide and a resource CD.

No. Mercusys lists Windows 11 (64-bit) as the only supported system and states the MA37BE is not compatible with Windows 10.

Connect the included Bluetooth header cable from the card to a USB 2.0 header on your motherboard. Without it, Bluetooth is not fully enabled.

BE6500 tri-band: 2882 Mbps on 6 GHz, 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. These are maximum physical rates, and real throughput depends on your router and surroundings.

No. Mercusys states the MA37BE is not compatible with the low-profile bracket because of its fixed antennas.

To use Wi-Fi 7, 4K-QAM, Multi-RUs, 160 MHz, OFDMA and MU-MIMO, the access point must support those features too.

Bluetooth 5.4. Mercusys notes Bluetooth 5.4 functionality may be restricted on some systems and recommends updating the driver.

WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK and WPA3-SAE. WPA3 requires an access point that also supports WPA3.
