The TP-Link VIGI InSight S385DPS is an 8MP outdoor ColourPro panoramic bullet network camera that stitches two images into a 180° horizontal view at up to 5456 x 1520. Dual 1/1.79" sensors behind dual 5 mm F1.0 lenses give a minimum illumination of 0.0005 lux, and it adds red-blue warning lights, sound alerts, alarm and audio ports, people counting, 802.3at PoE and an IP67 weatherproof, IK10 vandal-proof metal housing.

InSight S385DPS overview

The VIGI InSight S385DPS is TP-Link's 8MP outdoor ColourPro panoramic bullet network camera. TP-Link highlights 4K (8MP) ultra-high definition, dual-lens stitched panoramic imaging, ultra-low light ColourPro night vision, red-blue warning lights with sound alerts, and IP67 weatherproof and IK10 vandal-proof protection. It uses dual 1/1.79" progressive scan CMOS sensors behind fixed 5 mm lenses with a dual F1.0 aperture on an M16 mount, giving a 180° horizontal, 51° vertical and 180° diagonal field of view. Maximum resolution is 5456 x 1520, with main-stream resolutions of 5456 x 1520, 4096 x 1152 and 2160 x 608, at up to 25 fps on 50 Hz or 24 fps on 60 Hz. TP-Link notes that enabling people counting or object attribute analysis limits the frame rate to 20 fps. DORI distances for the 5 mm lens are 76 m to detect, 29 m to observe, 14 m to recognise and 7 m to identify.

For low light, minimum illumination is 0.0005 lux, or 0 lux with IR or white light. The camera has two 850 nm IR LEDs and two white LEDs, each with a range of 50 m; TP-Link states these ranges are calculated from laboratory testing and that actual results vary with client limitations and environmental factors. The illuminator can be set to auto, scheduled, always on or always off, with an IR-cut filter and unified, scheduled or automatic day/night switching. Image tools include 120 dB WDR, BLC, 3D DNR, HLC and SmartIR, an SNR of 52 dB or more, up to four privacy masks and four ROI regions, plus settings for mirror, brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, exposure, white balance and preventing overexposure to infrared light.

Motion detection is enhanced with human and vehicle classification for more accurate alerts, alongside video tampering, illegal-login and alarm input device events. Smart events cover intrusion, line-crossing, region entering and exiting, loitering, people, vehicle, abnormal sound and scene change detection. Two deep learning functions, which TP-Link says must be used with VIGI specified software, are People & Vehicle Analytics, which lets you search and filter for people or vehicles of interest by attribute, and People Counting, which tracks entries, exits and passers-by through head-shoulder detection for real-time flow analytics. Alarm linkage includes memory card recording, FTP upload, an alarm output device, push notifications, an alarm server, email alarms and Active Defence sound and light alarms, and the camera has red-blue warning lights for sound-and-light alerts.

Audio comes from a built-in dual microphone, which records within a 5 m radius, and a built-in speaker for two-way audio with environment noise filtering, and the camera also has one audio input, one audio output, one alarm input and one alarm output. Video can be compressed with H.265+, H.265, H.264+ or H.264 on the main stream at 256 Kbps to 8 Mbps, with the sub-stream at 64 to 1024 Kbps. It supports ONVIF Profile S/T/G, three main plus three sub-streams of simultaneous live view and 802.1X authentication, and can be managed with the VIGI app, Web UI, VIGI VMS, VIGI Cloud VMS, VIGI Config Tool and VIGI PC Client. Power is 802.3at PoE (Class 4, maximum 21 W) through a 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port, or 12 V DC (maximum 18 W). A built-in microSD slot supports cards up to 512 GB; TP-Link notes the microSD card and pole mounting kits are not included. The metal housing weighs 1.12 kg, measures 266 x 116 x 90 mm and operates from -30 to 60 °C. In the box are the camera, a quick start guide, waterproof cable attachments and mounting accessories.
