Professional Overview

The Ubiquiti Horn-5-60 is a specialized 60° horn antenna that represents a significant leap forward in Point-to-MultiPoint (PtMP) network design. As a key component of the modular PrismAP (PrismStation) system, it is engineered to provide highly defined, targeted RF coverage while aggressively mitigating interference, a critical requirement for modern high-density wireless networks.

The primary advantage of the Horn-5-60 lies in its superior beam performance. Unlike traditional sector antennas that produce wide side lobes which can cause and receive interference, this horn antenna has virtually no side lobes and an extremely clean back side. It focuses the RF energy only where it's needed, within a precise 60-degree beam. This characteristic is invaluable in co-located tower environments, as it allows network operators to deploy multiple radios close together without causing self-interference, enabling greater frequency reuse and dramatically increasing the overall capacity of the site.

Designed for scalability and flexibility, the Horn-5-60 is part of an interchangeable antenna family. It can be easily swapped with other PrismAP horns (such as 30°, 45°, and 90° models) to precisely tailor the coverage area for a specific deployment scenario. The innovative single-button release mechanism allows for fast, tool-less antenna changes, making it incredibly efficient to modify or scale a basestation as network demands evolve.

For Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) and network architects aiming to build robust, high-performance PtMP networks in noisy, high-density environments, the Ubiquiti Horn-5-60 provides an unmatched solution. Its combination of precise beam control, excellent noise immunity, and modular design makes it an essential tool for creating scalable and interference-resistant wireless infrastructure.
