Key Features
  • License Plate Recognition (ANPR): Embedded deep-learning algorithms capture and recognise plates on-device with high accuracy across common and complex-structured plates; supports blocklist/allowlist with separate alarm triggers. Number plate detection distance: 2.5 m (2.8 mm lens), 4 m (4 mm lens).
  • DarkfighterS Ultra-Low-Light Technology: 1/1.8″ Progressive Scan CMOS delivers colour imaging down to 0.0003 Lux (F1.0, AGC ON) and black&white imaging down to 0.0001 Lux, enabling sharp footage in near-darkness without artificial lighting.
  • 4 MP Resolution: Max. 2688 × 1520 at up to 30 fps; five concurrent streams satisfy recording, monitoring, and analytics workloads simultaneously.
  • 140 dB Wide Dynamic Range: Preserves detail in scenes with extreme contrast — bright exits alongside dark interiors, sunlit driveways, and high-beam headlights.
  • Hybrid Smart Supplement Light: Combines 850 nm IR and white-light illuminators with Smart Supplement Light auto-adjustment; effective range up to 40 m.
  • HEOP 2.0 Open Platform: 1.5 TOPS computing power, 40 MB system memory, 350 MB smart RAM, and 1 GB eMMC storage allow third-party AI applications to run directly on the camera via the Hikvision Embedded Open Platform SDK (C++, Caffe, TensorFlow, PaddlePaddle, ONNX).
  • Deep Learning Perimeter Protection: On-camera detection of line crossing, intrusion, region entrance, and region exiting with alarm triggering by specified target types (person/vehicle).
  • Vehicle Attribute Detection: Detects vehicle type, colour, and brand alongside plate recognition, providing complete traffic intelligence from a single camera unit.
  • IP67 Weather Resistance: Fully sealed against dust ingress and protected against water jets in any direction, suitable for outdoor installation in Australian conditions.
  • H.265+ Compression: Reduces bandwidth and storage requirements while maintaining image quality; supports SVC H.264/H.265, target cropping, and ROI encoding across five streams.
  • MicroSD On-Board Storage: Built-in microSD/SDHC/SDXC slot supports up to 1 TB; Auto Network Replenishment (ANR) ensures recording continuity during network outages.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Hikvision IDS-2CD7347G0-P-XS-4MM and what makes it different from a standard IP camera?

The Hikvision IDS-2CD7347G0-P-XS-4MM is a 4 MP DeepinView DarkfighterS ANPR Fixed Turret Network Camera featuring on-board license plate recognition and the Hikvision Embedded Open Platform (HEOP 2.0). Unlike a standard IP camera, it runs deep-learning inference directly on the device using its 1.5 TOPS compute engine — capturing and recognising number plates, detecting vehicle type, colour, and brand, and triggering perimeter-protection alarms without requiring a separate AI server. The 4 mm fixed lens delivers a 94.7° horizontal field of view with a DORI Identify distance of 7.2 m.

What series does the IDS-2CD7347G0-P-XS belong to and what does DarkfighterS mean?

The IDS-2CD7347G0-P-XS belongs to Hikvision’s DeepinView series, which combines the DarkfighterS ultra-low-light technology with on-board AI processing. DarkfighterS refers to the combination of a large-aperture F1.0 lens, a 1/1.8″ Progressive Scan CMOS sensor, and advanced image-processing algorithms that together achieve colour imaging at a minimum illumination of just 0.0003 Lux — enabling full-colour night surveillance in areas that would appear completely dark to the human eye.

How far can the IDS-2CD7347G0-P-XS-4MM detect and read a licence plate?

With the 4 mm lens, the camera’s embedded ANPR algorithm detects number plates at up to 4 m distance under typical conditions. The DORI distances per EN 62676-4 for the 4 mm lens are: Detect 72.1 m, Observe 28.6 m, Recognise 14.4 m, and Identify 7.2 m. The camera supports blocklists and allowlists with up to 10,000 plate records and can trigger separate alarms for blocked or allowed vehicles.

Does the camera support third-party AI applications via HEOP?

Yes. The HEOP 2.0 OpendevSDK allows integrators to deploy custom C++ applications compiled against Caffe, TensorFlow, PaddlePaddle, or ONNX frameworks directly onto the camera. The platform allocates 40 MB system memory, 350 MB smart RAM, and 1 GB eMMC storage for third-party workloads running alongside Hikvision’s own ANPR and perimeter-protection algorithms.

What power options are available for the IDS-2CD7347G0-P-XS?

The camera accepts two power sources: 12 VDC ±20% (max. 7.9 W via the included terminal) and Power over Ethernet compliant with IEEE 802.3af, Type 1, Class 3 (max. 9.69 W over 36 V to 57 V). PoE is the most common installation method, allowing a single Cat5e/Cat6 cable to carry both data and power from an 802.3af-capable switch or PoE injector.

Is the IDS-2CD7347G0-P-XS-4MM suitable for outdoor installation in Australia?

Yes. The camera is rated IP67 per IEC 60529-2013, meaning it is fully protected against dust ingress and sustained water jets from any direction. It operates across a temperature range of −30 °C to 60 °C with humidity up to 95% (non-condensing), covering all Australian climate zones from tropical north Queensland to alpine regions. The aluminium alloy body provides robust mechanical protection, and the unit holds RCM certification (AS/NZS CISPR 32:2015) confirming compliance with Australian EMC requirements.

Professional Overview

The Hikvision IDS-2CD7347G0-P-XS-4MM addresses the growing need for intelligent traffic and access-control monitoring at a single-camera price point. By embedding ANPR, vehicle attribute detection, and perimeter protection directly in the camera firmware, it eliminates the dedicated AI server that traditional plate-recognition deployments require, reducing both capital cost and network bandwidth. The 4 mm fixed lens paired with a 2688 × 1520 sensor provides a 94.7° horizontal field of view suitable for single-lane driveways, car park entries, boom-gate approaches, and retail forecourts where operators need simultaneous situational awareness and plate-level forensic detail.

DarkfighterS technology centres on three design choices that set it apart from conventional low-light cameras: a wide-aperture F1.0 lens that gathers four times more light than a standard F2.0 optic, a back-illuminated 1/1.8″ CMOS sensor with enhanced pixel sensitivity, and a 140 dB Wide Dynamic Range processor that handles simultaneous bright and dark zones in the same frame. The practical result is full-colour footage under moonlight-equivalent conditions (0.0003 Lux) and true zero-light performance when the hybrid IR/white-light supplement illuminates the scene. Smart Supplement Light actively adjusts illumination intensity based on scene content, preventing over-exposure of near objects while maintaining range for distant ones.

Five concurrent H.265+ streams let integrators run a high-resolution main stream for recording, a compressed sub-stream for remote monitoring over limited bandwidth, and dedicated analytics streams for ANPR and perimeter protection — all without compromising any individual stream. The HEOP 2.0 platform opens an additional layer of flexibility: parking-management, retail-analytics, or custom-classification applications developed in standard AI frameworks can be sideloaded onto the camera, turning a fixed-lens turret into a reconfigurable AI edge node. The RS-485 port, alarm I/O, and on-board microSD slot (up to 1 TB with ANR) round out a self-contained surveillance unit that continues recording locally if the network path to the NVR is interrupted.

ARC IP Networks supplies the IDS-2CD7347G0-P-XS-4MM as part of its curated Hikvision DeepinView portfolio, backed by local technical support and pre-sales consultation for system design.
