Figures from Cisco's official data sheet.

The Cisco C9130AXI-Z in depth

Cisco's top Wi-Fi 6 indoor AP

The Catalyst 9130AXI is the internal-antenna model of Cisco's 9130AX Series, its highest-performing Wi-Fi 6 access point. The default dual-radio mode pairs an 8x8 5-GHz radio with a 4x4 2.4-GHz radio, and the -Z part number is the Australia/New Zealand regulatory domain version.

Tri-radio capacity on demand

Flexible Radio Assignment can split the 8x8 radio into two 4x4 5-GHz radios through software while keeping 2.4 GHz active. A 5G Multigigabit uplink, Cisco RF ASIC with CleanAir and wIPS, and Bluetooth LE 5 round out the platform. Full 8x8 with USB needs Cisco UPOE (30.5W).

Lifecycle

The AP is managed by Cisco Catalyst 9800 controllers. Cisco has announced end-of-sale for the C9130AXI-Z on December 31, 2026, with support to December 31, 2031, and lists the Wireless 9178I as its migration product.
