The TP-Link Archer TX20U Nano is an AX1800 nano dual-band Wi-Fi 6 USB adapter for Windows 10 and 11 PCs. It supports signal rates of up to 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, MU-MIMO and WPA3 security, connects over USB 2.0 and measures just 26.8 x 15.7 x 7.5 mm.

Archer TX20U Nano overview

The Archer TX20U Nano is TP-Link's AX1800 nano Wi-Fi 6 wireless USB adapter, which TP-Link describes as a travel-size Wi-Fi 6 adapter. It adds dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) to a computer through a USB port. On the 5 GHz band TP-Link lists signal rates of up to 1201 Mbps with 11ax, 867 Mbps with 11ac, 300 Mbps with 11n and 54 Mbps with 11a. On 2.4 GHz the listed rates are up to 574 Mbps with 11ax, 400 Mbps with 11n, 54 Mbps with 11g and 11 Mbps with 11b. TP-Link marks every one of these rates as dynamic.

TP-Link positions the adapter as a way to bring Wi-Fi 6 to a PC: in its words, the latest Wi-Fi technology makes annoying lag and endless loading a thing of the past, with faster network loads and more connections. MU-MIMO is highlighted for lower latency, higher efficiency and less congestion, so streams, gameplay and uploads run while the network simultaneously processes bandwidth for multiple devices. Inside the tiny housing are two dual-band antennas, and transmission power is listed as 10 dBm (FCC) on both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz. Published reception sensitivity includes -90 dBm at 11ax HE80 MCS0 and -92 dBm at 11ac VHT80 MCS0 on 5 GHz, and -94 dBm at 11ax HE40 MCS0 on 2.4 GHz.

Security is covered by WPA3, which TP-Link describes as the latest Wi-Fi security protocol, bringing more secure encryption for Wi-Fi passwords and enhanced protection against brute-force attacks. The adapter also supports WEP, WPA/WPA2 and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK, alongside WPA3. The listed wireless mode is infrastructure mode. A status LED shows the adapter's state, and the listed certifications are FCC and CE.

The defining feature is size. At 26.8 x 15.7 x 7.5 mm, TP-Link says the nano adapter can be plugged into any USB port and left there, whether you are travelling or at home. The interface is USB 2.0, and the supported operating systems listed are Windows 10 and Windows 11. It is rated for operating temperatures of 0 to 40 degrees C and 10 to 90% non-condensing operating humidity, with 5 to 90% non-condensing storage humidity. The package contains the Archer TX20U Nano adapter and a quick installation guide. ARC IP Networks supplies the Archer TX20U Nano from Australian stock with the full manufacturer's warranty.
