The TP-Link Archer TX1U Nano is an AX300 Wi-Fi 6 wireless USB adapter in a nano 17.5 x 15.8 x 7.1 mm body. It supports IEEE 802.11b/g/n/ax over a USB 2.0 interface, is designed for plug-and-play setup, can share a connection in AP Mode, and supports Windows 11, 10 and 7 and Linux (kernel 3.10 and later).

Archer TX1U Nano overview

The Archer TX1U Nano adds Wi-Fi 6 to a computer through a USB port, in a nano-sized body. It is an AX300 adapter supporting the IEEE 802.11b/g/n/ax wireless standards, so it can connect to Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) routers as well as older 802.11b, g and n networks. TP-Link's tagline for it is "Plug and Forget": the adapter measures just 17.5 x 15.8 x 7.1 mm, and TP-Link positions it as a sleek, pocket-friendly Wi-Fi 6 adapter engineered for mobility, describing it as a travel companion for high-speed connections. A single internal antenna is used, so there is no external antenna to fit or adjust, and the adapter connects through a USB 2.0 interface.

Setup is designed to be simple. TP-Link describes the Archer TX1U Nano as offering true plug-and-play convenience, integrating Wi-Fi 6 capability into your device and giving instant wireless connectivity. Supported operating systems are Windows 11, Windows 10 and Windows 7, and Linux with kernel 3.10 and later; TP-Link describes this as high system compatibility across a broad spectrum of devices. If you are adding the adapter to a Linux machine, check the kernel version first, because TP-Link lists 3.10 as the minimum. macOS is not listed in TP-Link's published system requirements for this model.

Beyond connecting a computer to Wi-Fi, the Archer TX1U Nano has an AP Mode. TP-Link says AP Mode transforms your device into a versatile Wi-Fi hub, so you can share high-speed internet access with multiple devices from the computer the adapter is plugged into. This makes the adapter useful in two directions: as a client that connects the computer to a Wi-Fi network, and as a hub that gives other devices a wireless connection through the computer.

Wireless security covers WEP, WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK. WPA3 is not listed in TP-Link's specifications for this model. Physically, the adapter is a nano USB device with one internal antenna and a USB 2.0 interface, measuring 17.5 x 15.8 x 7.1 mm. In the box you get the Archer TX1U Nano AX300 Nano Wi-Fi 6 Wireless USB Adapter and a Quick Installation Guide. ARC IP Networks supplies the Archer TX1U Nano from Australian stock with the full manufacturer's warranty.
