The TP-Link VIGI NVR2016H-16P is a 16-channel PoE+ network video recorder with sixteen 802.3af/at PoE ports (up to 30 W per port), 160 Mbps incoming bandwidth, recording at up to 8MP with H.265+, 4K HDMI and VGA outputs, two SATA bays plus eSATA, a gigabit network port, 6/4 alarm inputs and outputs, and remote access from mobile and web.

VIGI NVR2016H-16P overview

The VIGI NVR2016H-16P is a 16-channel PoE+ network video recorder from TP-Link's VIGI range. It accepts 16 IP video inputs with 160 Mbps of incoming and 160 Mbps of outgoing bandwidth, and records at resolutions up to 8MP, including 5MP, 4MP, 3MP and 1080p. Supported video compression is H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264, and audio compression is G.711A, G.711U or G.726. Decoding capability is 10 channels at 1080p at 25 fps, or at 30 fps 2 channels at 8MP, 4 channels at 5MP, 5 channels at 4MP or 6 channels at 3MP.

Cameras connect directly to sixteen PoE ports. Ports 1 to 16 are 10/100 Mbps RJ45 interfaces compliant with 802.3at and 802.3af, delivering up to 30 W on any one port, so each camera receives data and power over one cable. A separate 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 port provides the gigabit link to your network. Interoperability covers ONVIF Profile S and CGI, and network protocols include RTSP, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, SMTP, DHCP, UPnP and NTP. For alarm integration there are six alarm inputs and four alarm outputs, plus one RCA audio input and one RCA audio output.

Local viewing uses one HDMI output at up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz and one VGA output at up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz, running simultaneously, with multi-view layouts of 1, 4, 6, 8, 9 or 16 cameras. Recording modes are manual, scheduled and motion detection recording, and playback modes are instant, regular, tag and event playback, with fast forward and backward, frame-by-frame play, digital zoom, clip export and recording lock. Storage is two SATA interfaces plus an eSATA port, backups can be regular or by video clip, and there is a front USB 2.0 port and a rear USB 3.0 port.

With a compatible camera, alarm functions cover motion detection, video tampering, scene change, line crossing, intrusion, region entering and exiting, loitering, object abandoned or removed, vehicle and human detection, abnormal sound and Smart Frame, with linkage to recording, white light alarms, buzzer, log and audible alarm. Anomaly alarms include video loss, IP conflict, disk, login and fan exceptions. Remote access is available from Android and iOS phones and from Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari. The 330 x 285 x 45 mm recorder runs from a 53.5 V DC / 2.43 A adapter, has a maximum power consumption of 6.2 W without disks and 40 W with disks, and works from -10 °C to 55 °C. ARC IP Networks supplies the VIGI NVR2016H-16P from Australian stock with the full manufacturer's warranty.
