The UniFi Protect G6 Turret (white) in depth

Where the G6 Turret fits

The G6 Turret is UniFi Protect's mainstream 4K turret. Its 1/1.8" 8MP sensor is larger than earlier turret models, which helps in low light, and the Multi-TOPS AI engine runs Ubiquiti's Enhanced AI detections on the camera.

Image and night vision

Video is 3864 x 2160 at up to 30 FPS through a fixed lens with a 109.9° horizontal, 56.7° vertical and 134.1° diagonal field of view. Built-in IR LEDs and an IR cut filter give up to 30 m of night vision. Image settings include HDR, 2D/3D noise reduction, masking and text overlay.

Built for outdoor use

The aluminium alloy and polycarbonate housing is rated IP66 and IK04, and Ubiquiti lists an operating range of -30 to 50 °C. Ceiling and wall mounts are included; arm, pendant and junction box mounts are optional.

Choosing where to mount it

Turrets have no dome bubble, so they avoid the IR glare and reflections domes can suffer at night. Mount the G6 Turret 2.5–4 m high, angle it slightly down and keep bright lights out of the frame. The 109.9° horizontal view suits entrances and car parks; for long driveways or fence lines, a bullet or a Pro model with zoom gives more detail at distance.

Power and recording

The camera connects over a 10/100 RJ45 port and draws up to 12.5 W from PoE (37–57 V DC). It records to a UniFi Protect NVR, Cloud Gateway or Dream Machine, with no per-camera licence or cloud subscription.
