The UniFi CyberSecure (1 year) in depth

Enhanced intrusion detection and prevention

UniFi CyberSecure upgrades the built-in UniFi Network IDS/IPS system, which scans traffic for known threat patterns called signatures. The signature library expands to over 110,000 definitions, with weekly updates of 30–50+ new signatures sourced from Proofpoint and the Microsoft Active Protections Program (MAPP). Curated signature sets help reduce false positives, and support for 53+ threat categories allows more targeted policy control.

Cloudflare-powered content filtering

CyberSecure unlocks Cloudflare-powered filtering with over 100 granular categories, going beyond the standard UniFi content filter. You can build tailored filtering policies based on compliance needs, user groups or VLANs. It suits professional environments that need fine-grained control over web access, compliance with organisational or regulatory policies (e.g., CIPA), and content filtering that scales beyond network-wide presets.

Coverage and activation

This one-year subscription covers a single site's gateway deployment, including a secondary "Shadow Mode" gateway used in High Availability (HA) setups. You activate it from Site Manager by clicking the shield icon for the site, then allow up to 15 minutes for all threat signatures and filtering features to fully activate. Available features are determined automatically by the hardware model in use.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the UniFi CyberSecure (1 year) from the ARC IP Networks team. Last reviewed October 2026.

It is a one-year UniFi CyberSecure subscription for one site's gateway. CyberSecure is a premium security service that enhances UniFi Network's built-in protection with Proofpoint-powered IDS/IPS and Cloudflare-powered Enhanced Content Filtering.

It covers a single site's gateway deployment, including a secondary "Shadow Mode" gateway used in High Availability (HA) setups.

Activate it on a UniFi gateway from Site Manager by clicking the shield icon for the desired site. Allow up to 15 minutes for all threat signatures and filtering features to fully activate. Remote Access must be enabled for the subscription to activate successfully.

It depends on the gateway model. For example, EFG, UXG-Enterprise and EF Core support 110,000+ signatures across 53 categories. UDM-Pro, UDM-SE, UCG-Ultra and similar models support 70,000+ signatures, or 30,000+ in Memory Optimized Mode. UDM, UDR, UDR7 and UX7 support 25,000+ signatures across 13 categories.

Yes. Subscriptions can be transferred via the owner's Account Portal under Subscriptions, for eligible devices on the same account. Each subscription can be transferred up to two times within a 30-day period. Moving to an EFG or EF Core would need a new CyberSecure Enterprise subscription.

Some advanced capabilities may not be available in all regions, and the service is not available in a list of excluded regions given in the Ubiquiti guide. Support for additional regions is coming soon.
