The TP-Link UB600 is the Bluetooth 6.0 version of TP-Link's nano USB Bluetooth adapter. Plugged into a Windows 11, 10, 8.1 or 7 computer, it pairs up to seven devices at the same time, from wireless headsets to controllers and keyboards, in a 14.8 x 6.8 x 18.9 mm body that can stay in the port permanently.

UB600 overview

The UB600 is TP-Link's Bluetooth 6.0 nano USB adapter, and it is the newest version of the format: the same small dongle as TP-Link's UB500, but built on Bluetooth 6.0 rather than 5.x. Its job is to make a non-Bluetooth desktop or laptop Bluetooth-capable, or to replace a laptop's failed internal Bluetooth. TP-Link says Bluetooth 6.0 keeps the high speed of the previous versions and is enhanced for reliability and security, giving more robust connections with game controllers, headphones and keyboards.

Up to seven Bluetooth devices can be connected to the PC at once through the UB600. For audio, TP-Link points to a longer transmission range, so a Bluetooth headset keeps playing as you move from the bedroom to the living room, and it quotes twice the transfer speed for files, music and video between devices. All of those speed, distance and capacity figures are TP-Link laboratory results, and real-world performance depends on your devices and surroundings.

Physically the UB600 measures 14.8 x 6.8 x 18.9 mm, which TP-Link calls plug in and forget: insert it into any USB port and leave it there at home or on the road. Operating systems listed are Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7; on Windows 7 install the driver from TP-Link's UB600 download page first. Operating temperature is 0 °C to 40 °C. The package contains the UB600 Bluetooth 6.0 nano USB adapter and a quick installation guide.
