The TP-Link Tapo A202 is a solar panel for Tapo battery cameras with a Type-C output and up to 4.5 W of charging power at a maximum of 5.2 V. Type-C to Micro USB and Type-C to Type-C adapters are included. Connect it to the camera with the 0.48 m cable for a neat look or use the 3.6 m extension to chase the sun. It has a 360° adjustable bracket, is IP65 rated and connects to one camera.

Tapo A202 overview

The Tapo A202 is TP-Link's Type-C solar panel for Tapo battery cameras. TP-Link says that with its Type-C output port, the A202 is compatible with Tapo battery cameras, enabling continuous protection all year round, and notes that more products will be supported in the future. One solar panel can only connect to one camera. The panel measures 211.17 x 173.57 x 16.9 mm.

Charging comes from direct sunlight through premium monocrystalline silicon cells, with a maximum charging power of 4.5 W and a maximum charging voltage of 5.2 V. For installation, TP-Link offers two layouts: connect the A202 and your camera through the short 0.48 m charging cable for a neater appearance, or use the 3.6 m extension charging cable to place the panel where it gets the most sun, so the camera is not limited by power outlet placement. The angle-adjustable bracket mounts on a wall or roof and turns through 360° to capture enough sunlight.

The A202 is IP65 rated for dust and water resistance, and TP-Link says it can withstand harsh weather including rain, snow, dust and bright sunshine. It is wall-mounted. TP-Link rates it for operation from -20 °C to 45 °C, with battery charging to be kept between 0 °C and 45 °C, and for storage from -40 °C to 60 °C. Operating humidity is 10% to 90% and storage humidity 0% to 90%, non-condensing. Certifications are CE, FCC and RCM.

The output port is Type-C, and a Type-C to Micro USB adapter is included for cameras with a Micro USB charging port, along with a Type-C to Type-C adapter. The full package list is the solar panel, an adjustable mounting bracket, three mounting screws and three anchors, a mounting template sticker, six waterproof gaskets, a cable zip tie, the extension wire, both adapters and a quick start guide. Against the Tapo A201, the A202 is larger and has a higher maximum charging power of 4.5 W.
