The TP-Link Tapo A200 is a solar panel that keeps compatible Tapo battery cameras charged. It delivers up to 4.5 W of charging power at a maximum of 5.2 V through a Micro USB output, with a 4 m charging cable, a 360° angle-adjustable wall or roof bracket and an IP65 weatherproof rating. One panel connects to one camera.

Tapo A200 overview

The Tapo A200 is TP-Link's solar panel for Tapo battery cameras, designed to keep a camera charged so it can protect your home all year round. TP-Link's AU specification lists compatibility with the Tapo C400S1/S2 v1.0, Tapo C420S1/S2 v1.0/1.20, Tapo C425 v1.0/1.20 and TC85 v1.0/1.20, and the page links to a full list of supported models. TP-Link notes that more products will be supported in the future, and that a solar panel can only connect to one camera.

Charging is through a Micro USB output, with a maximum charging voltage of 5.2 V and a maximum charging power of 4.5 W from sunlight. The A200 has a 4 m charging cable, so the panel and the camera do not need to sit side by side: you can find the sunniest position for the panel and run the cable to the camera. The adjustable mounting bracket lets you fix the panel to a wall or roof and turn it through 360° to capture enough sunlight.

The panel is IP65 weatherproof, which TP-Link says keeps your battery cameras charged even in harsh environments with rain and dust. It is wall-mounted and measures 237.96 x 174.85 x 17.5 mm. TP-Link rates it for operation from -20 °C to 45 °C, noting that battery charging should take place between 0 °C and 45 °C, and for storage from -40 °C to 60 °C. Operating humidity is 10% to 90% and storage humidity 5% to 90%, non-condensing. Certifications are CE, FCC and RCM.

In the box TP-Link lists the Tapo A200 solar panel, an adjustable mounting bracket, the 4 m charging cable, mounting screws and anchors, a mounting template, waterproof gaskets and a quick start guide. Because the A200 uses a Micro USB output, check that your camera is on TP-Link's compatibility list before ordering; TP-Link's Tapo A201 and A202 panels use a Type-C output with an adapter for Micro USB cameras.
