The TP-Link SX3832 is an Omada Access Max 24-port 10GBASE-T switch with 8 10G SFP+ slots. Its 24 RJ45 ports run at 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps (including 2.5G and 5G), and the eight 1/10G SFP+ slots handle uplinks, giving 640 Gbps switching capacity. It supports 128 IP interfaces, 48 static routes, DHCP server, VLAN, ACL and QoS, managed via Omada SDN or standalone, in a rackmount chassis with two fans.

SX3832 overview

The SX3832 is TP-Link's Omada Access Max 24-Port 10GBASE-T Switch with 8x 10G SFP+ Slots, current AU hardware version V1.20. It brings 10G to copper at the access layer: twenty-four RJ45 ports auto-negotiate at 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 5 Gbps and 10 Gbps, so devices at any of those speeds can connect to the same switch. Eight 1/10G SFP+ slots provide uplinks and fibre connections, and there are RJ45 and USB Type-C console ports. There is no PoE on this model; the SX3832MPP is the PoE++ version.

Performance figures are 640 Gbps switching capacity, a 240 Mpps forwarding rate, a 32K MAC table, a 24 Mbit buffer and 9 KB jumbo frames. L2+ features include 128 IPv4/IPv6 interfaces and 48 static routes, 128 static ARP entries out of 510, proxy and gratuitous ARP, DHCP server, DHCP interface, VLAN and L2 relay, link aggregation, spanning tree, loopback detection, 802.3x flow control and mirroring, plus VLAN, ACL and QoS.

The SX3832 lists a maximum of 106.5 W at 220 V/50 Hz (104.9 W at 110 V/60 Hz) with 363.23 BTU/hr heat dissipation. It uses two fans, an internal 100 to 240 V AC supply, a physical security lock and 6 kV surge protection, in a 440 x 220 x 44 mm rack-mountable chassis. Operating temperature is -5 to 50 °C.

For management it joins Omada SDN via an Omada Cloud-Based, Hardware or Software Controller, with the Omada app and centralised cloud management, or runs standalone with web GUI, CLI, SNMP and RMON. The package contains the switch, a power cord, a console cable, a quick installation guide, a rackmount kit and rubber feet.
