The TP-Link SX3032F is an Omada 32-port 10GE SFP+ L2+ managed switch for the aggregation layer. It has thirty-two 1/10 Gbps SFP+ slots, 640 Gbps switching capacity and 240 Mpps forwarding, two internal fixed power supplies in a 1+1 redundant arrangement, static routing, ERPS ring protection, VLAN, ACL, QoS and IGMP snooping, and is managed centrally through Omada SDN or standalone via web, CLI, SNMP and RMON.

SX3032F overview

The SX3032F is TP-Link's Omada 32-port 10GE SFP+ L2+ managed switch, described by TP-Link as ideal for use in the aggregation layer and as a full 10G fibre switch for lightning-fast aggregation switching. Every data port is an SFP+ slot: there are thirty-two 1/10 Gbps SFP+ slots, plus an RJ45 console port and a Micro-USB console port for management. TP-Link lists 640 Gbps switching capacity, a 240 Mpps packet forwarding rate, a 32K MAC address table, a 24 Mbit packet buffer and 9 KB jumbo frames. TP-Link's note on copper modules: it recommends a maximum of eight SM5310-T (TL-SM5310-T) 10GBASE-T RJ45 modules with the SX3032F, with one module used for every two sets of SFP+ slots. TP-Link positions the SX3032F within its 10G range, alongside 10G routers, switches with 10G uplinks, PoE switches with 10G uplinks and Wi-Fi 7/6 access points with 10G/2.5G ports, for building a whole 10G multi-gigabit network.

For uptime the SX3032F has a 1+1 redundant power supply: two internal fixed power supply modules back each other up, with two power cords included and a 100-240 V AC input. ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching) supports rapid protection and recovery in a ring topology. Cooling comes from two internal fixed fans, and the switch has a durable metal casing, a physical security lock and a rack-mountable 440 x 330 x 44 mm body. Maximum power consumption is listed as 49.4 W at 220 V / 50 Hz, and it operates from -5 to 45 °C with 10 to 90% non-condensing humidity. It carries CE and FCC certification.

Although it is an L2+ switch, the SX3032F includes useful routing features: 128 IPv4/IPv6 interfaces, 48 IPv4/IPv6 static routes, 128 static ARP entries and 510 ARP entries, Proxy ARP and Gratuitous ARP, a DHCP server, DHCP interface and VLAN relay, and DHCP L2 relay. TP-Link says static routing helps route internal traffic for higher efficiency. Layer 2 features include link aggregation, spanning tree, loopback detection, 802.3x flow control and mirroring, up to 4K 802.1Q VLAN groups, MAC VLAN (30 entries), protocol VLAN, GVRP, QinQ VLAN mapping and replace, and voice VLAN. Multicast support covers 4000 IPv4/IPv6 IGMP groups, IGMP snooping and authentication, MVR, MLD snooping and multicast filtering with 256 profiles. QoS offers eight priority queues, 802.1p CoS and DSCP priority, SP, WRR and SP+WRR scheduling and port or flow-based rate limiting.

Security includes time-based MAC, IP, combined, packet content and IPv6 ACLs, IP-MAC-Port binding and IPv6-MAC-Port binding (512 entries each), DHCP and DHCPv6 snooping, ARP inspection, IPv4 and IPv6 source guard, ND detection, DoS defend, port security with up to 64 MAC addresses per port, storm control, 802.1X with MAB and guest VLAN, AAA including TACACS+, port isolation, HTTPS and SSHv1/SSHv2. ISP features listed are L2PT, DLDP, PPPoE ID insertion, ERPS, 802.3ah Ethernet Link OAM, DDM and sFlow. Within Omada SDN the SX3032F supports centralised cloud management, automatic device discovery, batch configuration and firmware upgrading, intelligent network monitoring, unified configuration and the Omada app; these require an Omada Hardware, Software or Cloud-Based Controller, and zero-touch provisioning requires the Omada Cloud-Based Controller. Standalone management uses the web GUI, CLI through the console port or telnet, SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and RMON, with dual image and dual configuration. The box contains the SX3032F switch, two power cords, a quick installation guide, a rackmount kit and rubber feet.
