The TP-Link SG3428X is an Omada Access Plus 24-port gigabit L2+ managed switch with 4 10G SFP+ slots. It has twenty-four 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports, four 10G SFP+ uplinks and RJ45 and USB Type-C console ports, giving 128 Gbps switching capacity. Features include 128 IP interfaces, 48 static routes, DHCP server, VLAN, ACL, 802.1X and QoS, managed via Omada SDN or standalone, in a fanless rackmount chassis.

SG3428X overview

The SG3428X is TP-Link's Omada Access Plus 24-Port Gigabit Switch with 4x 10G SFP+ Slots, current AU hardware version V1.40. It pairs twenty-four 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports with four 10G SFP+ slots, so a 24-port access switch can uplink at 10 Gbps to a core or aggregation switch, a 10G NAS or a server. Console access is through an RJ45 console port or a USB Type-C console port. There is no PoE on this model.

The 10G uplinks lift performance well above the gigabit-uplink SG3428: switching capacity is 128 Gbps and the forwarding rate 95.23 Mpps, with a 16K MAC table, a 12 Mbit buffer and 9 KB jumbo frames. L2+ features match the SG3428: 128 IPv4/IPv6 interfaces, 48 static routes, 128 static ARP entries out of 512, proxy and gratuitous ARP, DHCP server, DHCP interface, VLAN and L2 relay, link aggregation, spanning tree and loopback detection, plus VLAN, ACL, 802.1X and QoS. Like the rest of the Omada Access Plus range, the SG3428X is managed centrally from an Omada Cloud-Based, Hardware or Software Controller, from a browser or the Omada app, and supports zero-touch provisioning with the cloud controller. A web GUI, CLI (including the USB Type-C console), SNMP and RMON cover standalone use.

The switch is fanless, with an internal 100 to 240 V AC supply, a physical security lock and 6 kV surge protection. The 440 x 180 x 44 mm chassis is rack mountable, and the rackmount kit, rubber feet, power cord and quick installation guide are in the box. Maximum power consumption is 23.6 W at 110 V/60 Hz. Operating temperature is -5 to 45 °C. SFP+ modules or direct attach cables for the uplinks are purchased separately.
