The TP-Link SG3210 (TL-SG3210) is an Omada Access 8-port gigabit managed switch with 2 SFP slots. It has eight 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports, two 100/1000 Mbps SFP slots, and RJ45 and micro-USB console ports. Its L2+ feature set includes static routing with 32 IP interfaces and 48 static routes, DHCP server, VLAN, ACL, 802.1X and QoS, managed through Omada SDN or standalone. It is fanless, with 20 Gbps switching.

SG3210 overview

The SG3210 is TP-Link's Omada Access 8-Port Gigabit Switch with 2 SFP Slots, current AU hardware version V3.30, and TP-Link also lists it under its older code TL-SG3210. Unlike the SG22xx smart switches, the SG3210 has dedicated console ports: an RJ45 console port and a micro-USB console port sit alongside eight 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports and two 100/1000 Mbps SFP slots. There is no PoE on this model. A console cable is included in the box with the power cord, rackmount kit, rubber feet and quick installation guide.

The L2+ feature set is the main reason to choose it over a smart switch. TP-Link lists 32 IPv4/IPv6 interfaces and 48 static routes, 128 static ARP entries out of 316 ARP entries, proxy and gratuitous ARP, DHCP server, DHCP interface, VLAN and L2 relay, link aggregation, spanning tree and loopback detection, with VLAN, ACL, 802.1X and QoS features for segmenting and securing a small network. For management, the SG3210 can be adopted into Omada SDN by a Cloud-Based Controller (5.15.22 or later) or a Hardware or Software Controller (5.15.20 or later), which adds the Omada app, cloud access and zero-touch provisioning via the cloud controller. On its own, the switch is configured through its web GUI, the CLI over the console ports or telnet, SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and RMON.

Performance figures are 20 Gbps switching capacity, a 14.89 Mpps forwarding rate, an 8K MAC table, a 4.1 Mbit buffer and 9 KB jumbo frames. The SG3210 is fanless with an internal 100 to 240 V AC supply, a physical security lock and ±6 kV surge protection. It measures 294 x 180 x 44 mm and is rack mountable or desktop. Maximum power consumption is only 6.84 W at 220 V/50 Hz. Operating temperature is -5 to 50 °C, storage -40 to 70 °C.
