The TP-Link TL-SF1006P is a 6-port 10/100 Mbps unmanaged desktop switch with four 802.3af/at PoE+ ports. Each PoE port supplies up to 30 W within a 67 W total budget, Extend Mode reaches 250 m for surveillance, Priority Mode protects ports 1-2, and two non-PoE ports handle uplink and a recorder. It has a durable metal casing, is fanless and wall mountable, and needs no configuration.

TL-SF1006P overview

The TL-SF1006P is TP-Link's professional high-power switch with four PoE+ ports, which TP-Link describes as plug and play, with PoE transmission for surveillance up to 250 m. It has six 10/100 Mbps RJ45 ports with auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX. Ports 1 to 4 support 802.3af/at PoE+, and TP-Link says compliance with the 802.3af/at standard supports up to 30 W on each PoE port. The total 67 W PoE power budget for the four ports opens up a wide range of applications, such as surveillance for offices, dormitories and small businesses, and it is fully compatible with IP cameras, access points, IP phones, computers, printers and more. TP-Link notes that PoE budget calculations are based on laboratory testing; the actual PoE power budget is not guaranteed and will vary as a result of client limitations and environmental factors.

The two extra non-PoE ports are what separate it from the 5-port TL-SF1005P: on the TL-SF1006P one port can go to the router or uplink and the other to a network video recorder, while all four PoE+ ports stay free for cameras. Extend Mode on ports 1 to 4 gives up to 250 m data and power transmitting range. TP-Link notes that the speed of the ports in Extend Mode downgrades to 10 Mbps, and the actual transmission distance may vary due to the power consumption of PoE-powered devices or the cable quality and type. Priority Mode guarantees the quality of sensitive applications like video monitoring in critical business areas by giving ports 1 and 2 higher priority when the one-touch button is on. TP-Link's intelligent power management cuts the lower-priority port's power when total consumption exceeds 67 W, ensuring the high-priority ports stay powered and protecting the device from overload; it also automatically detects and provides the required power for PoE devices while protecting PoE and non-PoE equipment from damage.

Switching capacity is 1.2 Gbps and the packet forwarding rate 0.8928 Mpps, with a 2K MAC address table, 2 KB jumbo frames, MAC address auto-learning and auto-aging, IEEE 802.3x flow control for full-duplex and backpressure for half-duplex, and store-and-forward transmission. TP-Link says the interior components are protected by a high-quality metal casing to ensure a long product life, and that the switch has passed an array of stringent reliability tests. It is fanless, supports wall mounting and has a physical security lock slot. Power comes from a 53.5 V DC / 1.31 A adapter; consumption is 2.52 W with no PD connected and 75.4 W with 67 W of PDs connected, and heat dissipation 8.59 and 257.11 BTU/h. It measures 158 x 101 x 25 mm (6.2 x 4.0 x 1.0 in), operates from 0 to 40 degrees C and is FCC and CE certified. TP-Link's AU page shows hardware version V4.40.
