The TP-Link IES210GPP is an Omada 10-port Gigabit industrial easy managed switch with 6-port PoE+ and 2-port PoE++. It has two 802.3bt PoE++ ports at up to 60 W, six PoE+ ports at up to 30 W and two Gigabit SFP/RJ45 combo slots, with a PoE budget of up to 240 W depending on input voltage. It is built for harsh sites: -40 to 75 degrees C operation, 12-57 V DC 1+1 redundant power input, a fault relay, an IP40 aluminium case and DIN-rail or wall mounting.

IES210GPP overview

The IES210GPP is TP-Link's Omada 10-port Gigabit industrial easy managed switch with six PoE+ ports and two PoE++ ports. Ports 1 and 2 are 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE++ RJ45 ports compliant with 802.3af/at/bt, delivering up to 60 W each; ports 3 to 8 are 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE+ RJ45 ports (802.3af/at) at up to 30 W each; and two Gigabit SFP/RJ45 combo slots carry uplinks over copper or fibre. Fast PoE and Perpetual PoE are listed, and TP-Link quotes PoE distances of up to 250 m (820 ft), noting that ports running at that distance drop to 10 Mbps and that actual distance depends on cable quality. The two PoE++ ports suit higher-power devices such as PTZ cameras, while the PoE+ ports handle fixed cameras and access points.

The PoE budget depends on the DC input voltage, and TP-Link publishes three tiers: 60 W with 12 V / 7.2 A to 21 V / 3.7 A input, 120 W with 21 V / 6.7 A to 46 V / 3.1 A input, and 240 W with 46 V / 5.7 A to 57 V / 4.4 A input. TP-Link notes the budget is based on lab tests and may vary with power supply, client limitations and environmental factors. The switch has 12-57 V DC dual redundant power inputs (1+1), so it keeps running if one supply fails, with overload current, overload voltage and reverse polarity protection. A fault relay rated 24 V / 1 A maximum (normally closed contact) connects to an external alarm, and TP-Link says the switch outputs an alarm signal promptly if a port is disconnected or the power input is abnormal. Standby consumption is 5.64 W at 12 V DC, 6.17 W at 24 V DC and 5.95 W at 48 V DC; maximum consumption is 85.74 W with 60 W of PDs at 12 V DC, 139.75 W with 120 W at 24 V DC and 258.33 W with 240 W at 48 V DC.

Industrial hardening is the main difference from the desktop ES210GMP. The IES210GPP is rated for -40 to 75 degrees C operation and -40 to 85 degrees C storage, at 5 to 95% RH non-condensing, in a fanless IP40 aluminium casing measuring 155 x 120 x 60 mm (6.1 x 4.7 x 2.4 in) and weighing 1.18 kg net. Surge protection is 6 kV common mode on the Ethernet ports and 4 kV common mode on the DC power inputs, which TP-Link calls 6 kV lightning protection, and ESD protection is 8 kV air and 6 kV contact. The datasheet lists EMC testing to IEC 61000-4-2, -4-3, -4-4, -4-5, -4-6 and -4-8 plus EN 55032/35, EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4, and shock, freefall and vibration testing to IEC 60068-2-27, -2-32 and -2-6. Certifications are CE and FCC, and MTBF is 446,898 hours at 25 degrees C. The box contains the switch, a DIN-rail mounting bracket, wall-mounting plates and an installation guide. TP-Link names surveillance, industrial automation, energy and smart buildings as applications.

Switching capacity is 20 Gbps with a 14.88 Mpps forwarding rate, an 8K MAC table, a 4 Mbit buffer and 15 KB jumbo frames. Software features include STP (802.1d) and RSTP (802.1w) spanning tree, static link aggregation with up to four groups of up to six ports, loopback detection, 802.3x flow control, port mirroring, port and traffic statistics, 802.1ab LLDP, IGMP v1/v2/v3 snooping with fast leave, and MTU, port-based and 802.1Q tag VLAN with up to 32 groups and 4K VIDs. QoS covers 802.1p and DSCP priority, eight queues, weighted round robin, queue weights, port-based rate limiting and storm control. Management is through a web GUI with DHCP client, cable diagnostics and Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) for SFP modules. Centralised cloud management uses the Omada Hardware, Software or Cloud-Based Controller with automatic device discovery, batch configuration, batch firmware upgrading and unified configuration; TP-Link also highlights Omada Central Essentials for free cloud management with logs and alert notifications, and zero-touch provisioning requires the Omada Cloud-Based Controller.
