The TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro (3-pack) is a three-unit AXE5400 tri-band mesh Wi-Fi 6E system rated by TP-Link for 4-7+ bedroom houses, with its coverage graphic showing up to 670 m2 (7,200 sq ft) for three units. Each Deco XE75 Pro has 2402 Mbps on 6 GHz and 5 GHz, 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, one 2.5 Gbps and two gigabit ports, and a 1.7 GHz quad-core CPU, so the system has three 2.5 Gbps ports in all.

Deco XE75 Pro (3-pack) overview

Three Deco XE75 Pro units come in this pack, along with three power adapters, one RJ45 Ethernet cable and a quick installation guide. TP-Link's specification table lists the 3-pack's Wi-Fi range as 4-7+ bedroom houses, and the coverage graphic on the XE75 Pro page shows three units at up to 7,200 sq ft/670 m2, against 5,500 sq ft/500 m2 for two and 2,900 sq ft/270 m2 for one. TP-Link pitches the system at homes where brick, cement, floors, ceilings and hallways stop Wi-Fi travelling, with apartments, multi-storey houses and ranch-style houses all shown on the page, and it says the Decos work together to move Wi-Fi around those obstacles. Coverage, speed and device counts are maximums that TP-Link says vary with conditions such as building materials, traffic and client location.

Each Deco XE75 Pro carries one 2.5 Gbps port and two gigabit ports with WAN/LAN auto-sensing, so a 3-pack gives you three 2.5 Gbps ports and six gigabit ports to spread around the home. That 2.5 Gbps port is the specified difference from the standard Deco XE75, which has three gigabit ports per unit; the XE75 Pro page also states a 1.7 GHz quad-core CPU. Use one 2.5 Gbps port for a faster-than-gigabit internet connection and the others for wired devices, or run optional Ethernet backhaul between units. On the wireless side each unit lists 2402 Mbps on 6 GHz (802.11ax, HE160), 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz (802.11ax, HE160) and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, totalling up to 5,400 Mbps for 200 devices according to TP-Link, with 2x2 MU-MIMO, OFDMA, six streams, beamforming, BSS Colouring and four internal high-gain antennas.

With three units, mesh behaviour matters more. TP-Link Mesh gives one network name, with true seamless roaming using IEEE 802.11k/v/r, adaptive path selection that chooses the best route and band for your data, band steering and AP steering, and self-healing that reroutes traffic through the other Decos if one has an issue. The AI-Driven Mesh uses sophisticated, self-learning algorithms to customise Wi-Fi for your home. TP-Link notes clients need to support 802.11k/v/r and may need additional setup, and that 6E, OFDMA, MU-MIMO, 1024-QAM and BSS Colour need client support too. The 160 MHz bandwidth may be unavailable on 5 GHz in some regions due to regulatory restrictions.

Management runs through the Deco app: connect the first unit to your modem and power on both, download the app, follow the in-app steps, then manage devices, priorities and guest networks on 6 GHz, 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz from home or away. HomeShield adds network protection (real-time IoT protection, malicious site blocker, intrusion prevention, home network scanner), parental controls (user profiles by age, content filter, bedtime, time rewards), device-priority QoS and reports, with a free Basic Plan and fees for the Pro Plan. The XE75 Pro also lists an SPI firewall, access control, WPA3-Personal, OpenVPN, PPTP and L2TP/IPSec VPN server and client, IPTV with IGMP proxy, IGMP snooping, bridge and tag VLAN, TP-Link DDNS, OTA upgrades and IPv6, plus Alexa voice control. Each unit measures 105 x 105 x 169 mm and can run in router or access point mode.
