The TP-Link Deco XE75 (3-pack) is a three-unit AXE5400 tri-band mesh Wi-Fi 6E system that TP-Link rates for coverage up to 7,200 sq ft and 4-7+ bedroom houses. Every Deco XE75 in the box offers 2402 Mbps on 6 GHz, 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz with three gigabit WAN/LAN ports, so the system has nine gigabit ports in total, plus HomeShield and VPN support.

Deco XE75 (3-pack) overview

With three Deco XE75 units, this is the largest XE75 configuration TP-Link lists: mesh Wi-Fi coverage up to 7,200 sq ft and a Wi-Fi range for 4-7+ bedroom houses. For comparison TP-Link quotes 5,500 sq ft for two units and 2,900 sq ft for one. Inside the 3-pack box are three Deco XE75 units, three power adapters, one RJ45 Ethernet cable and a quick installation guide. TP-Link frames the extra floor space around walls, floors and hallways, which make it hard for Wi-Fi to travel, and its answer is more Decos working together under one network name, so a third unit can sit at the far end of a long house, on another storey or out near a garage. As always, TP-Link notes that actual coverage and throughput vary with building materials, obstacles, traffic and client location.

Wi-Fi 6E is the core of the system. Each unit runs three bands: 6 GHz and 5 GHz at 2402 Mbps (802.11ax, HE160) and 2.4 GHz at 574 Mbps, for a total TP-Link puts at up to 5,400 Mbps for 200 devices. TP-Link describes the new 6 GHz band as offering the fastest possible speeds and lowest latency, with Wi-Fi 6E more than doubling the available spectrum. In a three-unit mesh, TP-Link says the 6 GHz band is used with the other bands as the wireless backhaul between Decos, giving the strongest and most stable network and improving Wi-Fi for non-6E devices too; Ethernet backhaul can be used where you have cabling. TP-Link reminds buyers that 6E, OFDMA, MU-MIMO, 1024-QAM and BSS Colour require clients that support them.

Wired connectivity scales with the pack: three gigabit WAN/LAN auto-sensing ports on each Deco XE75 gives nine gigabit ports across the 3-pack, useful for TVs, consoles or a desktop near each unit. The Deco XE75 has no multi-gig port; that is the main difference from the Deco XE75 Pro, which pairs one 2.5 Gbps port with two gigabit ports. Each XE75 has four internal high-gain antennas, beamforming, 2x2 MU-MIMO and six streams, and the AI-Driven Mesh learns your network environment to keep devices on the best connection as they move from room to room. Mesh features listed are IEEE 802.11k/v/r, true seamless roaming, adaptive path selection, band steering, AP steering and self-healing, where the system reroutes data through the other Decos if one has a problem.

Management stays in one place: the Deco app handles setup (connect to the modem and power on, download the app, then follow the in-app steps), shows every connected device, and lets you prioritise devices and run guest networks on 6 GHz, 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz with time and bandwidth control. HomeShield's free Basic Plan covers network protection and parental controls, with fees for the Pro Plan, and the listed features include real-time IoT protection, a malicious site blocker, intrusion prevention, DDoS attack prevention, a home network scanner, user profiles, content filtering, bedtime, time rewards and reports. The XE75 also supports OpenVPN, PPTP and L2TP/IPSec as VPN server and client, an isolated IoT network, IPTV with IGMP proxy, snooping, bridge and tag VLAN, IPv6, Tapo/Kasa onboarding and Alexa. Each unit is 105 x 105 x 169 mm and runs in router or access point mode.
