The TP-Link Archer TX35U Plus is an AX1800 high gain Wi-Fi 6 USB adapter for Windows 10 and 11. TP-Link lists 1800 Mbps of wireless speed, 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz plus 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, with dual high-gain antennas and beamforming for connecting from further away, OFDMA and MU-MIMO, SuperSpeed USB 3.0, WPA3 and client or hotspot modes.

Archer TX35U Plus overview

The Archer TX35U Plus is TP-Link's AX1800 high gain wireless USB adapter, with the largest antennas in this Wi-Fi 6 USB group. TP-Link says it streams flawless video with 1800 Mbps of wireless speed: 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz plus 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, with flexible dual-band operation so your PC has the best connection on either band. Under IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, the dynamic signal rates are up to 1201 Mbps (11ax), 867 Mbps (11ac), 300 Mbps (11n) and 54 Mbps (11a) on 5 GHz, and up to 574 Mbps (11ax), 300 Mbps (11n), 54 Mbps (11g) and 11 Mbps (11b) on 2.4 GHz.

Range is the reason to pick the Plus. Two high-gain dual-band antennas work with beamforming so you can connect from farther away, and the whole unit measures 57.8 x 18 x 173.4 mm. TP-Link lists reception sensitivity of -88 dBm for 11ax HE80 MCS0 and -87 dBm for 11ac VHT80 MCS0 on 5 GHz, and -92 dBm for 11ax HE40 MCS0 on 2.4 GHz. Transmission power is 19 dBm (FCC) or 17 dBm (CE) EIRP on 5 GHz and 18 dBm (FCC and CE) on 2.4 GHz. A status LED shows the adapter's state.

Unlike the infrastructure-only TX20U and TX20UH, the TX35U Plus lists two wireless modes: Client Mode for joining a network, and Hotspot Mode for sharing the PC's connection with other devices. The combination of OFDMA and MU-MIMO reduces latency, though TP-Link notes that Wi-Fi 6, OFDMA, MU-MIMO and 1024-QAM require the router to support them as well. SuperSpeed USB 3.0 gives up to 10x faster transfer speeds than USB 2.0, and security covers WEP, WPA/WPA2/WPA3 and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK, with WPA3 protecting your personal data.

Supported operating systems are Windows 10 and Windows 11, and TP-Link advises updating the driver if functionality is restricted on some systems. The adapter carries FCC and CE certification and is rated for operation from 0 °C to 40 °C. In the box are the Archer TX35U Plus AX1800 high gain wireless USB adapter and a quick installation guide.
