The TP-Link Archer TBE400E is a BE6500 Wi-Fi 7 Bluetooth 5.4 PCIe adapter for Windows 11 desktops. It runs on 6 GHz, 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz with up to 2882 Mbps on each of 6 GHz and 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, adds Multi-Link Operation, OFDMA and MU-MIMO, uses two high-performance tri-band antennas, and ships with a low-profile bracket and a Bluetooth header cable.

Archer TBE400E overview

The Archer TBE400E is TP-Link's BE6500 Wi-Fi 7 Bluetooth 5.4 PCIe adapter, an internal card that brings Wi-Fi 7 and current Bluetooth to a desktop PC. TP-Link describes Wi-Fi 7 as offering accelerated throughput, lower latency, stronger anti-jamming and higher efficiency. The card supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be across three bands. On 6 GHz the listed dynamic rates are up to 2882 Mbps with 11be and 2402 Mbps with 11ax. On 5 GHz they are up to 2882 Mbps (11be), 2402 Mbps (11ax), 1732 Mbps (11ac), 300 Mbps (11n) and 54 Mbps (11a). On 2.4 GHz they are up to 688 Mbps (11be), 574 Mbps (11ax), 300 Mbps (11n), 54 Mbps (11g) and 11 Mbps (11b).

TP-Link's Wi-Fi 7 headline is Multi-Link Operation: the TBE400E's MLO dynamically optimises frequency band usage so the PC always operates on the best available channel, for faster speeds, reduced interference and seamless performance. OFDMA and MU-MIMO together let more devices communicate with your router simultaneously rather than waiting in turn for data. Two high-performance tri-band antennas, which TP-Link calls signal-boosting high-gain antennas, extend existing coverage for a fast, smooth experience from farther away. Transmit power is listed at 24 dBm (FCC) and 20 dBm (CE) EIRP on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, and 20 dBm EIRP on 6 GHz. TP-Link recommends pairing it with Wi-Fi 7 systems such as the Archer BE800 BE19000 tri-band router or the Deco BE85 BE19000 mesh system.

Bluetooth 5.4, which TP-Link says builds on its predecessor's speed and range with improved reliability and security, connects game controllers, headphones, keyboards and more. The Bluetooth side links to the motherboard with the supplied 0.3 m Bluetooth header cable. The card measures 120.8 x 78.5 x 21.5 mm, and a low-profile bracket is supplied in addition to the standard bracket for mini tower computer cases.

Security covers WPA/WPA2/WPA3 and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK, and TP-Link describes WPA3 as bringing more secure password encryption and enhanced protection against brute-force attacks. The wireless mode is infrastructure. Software installs from the intuitive utility disk. The supported operating system is Windows 11 (64-bit) only, so check the PC's operating system before ordering. It is rated for operation from 0 to 40 degrees C at 10 to 90% non-condensing humidity, and for storage from -40 to 70 degrees C at 5 to 90% non-condensing humidity. Certifications are listed as FCC, CE, IC, NCC, JRF, VCCI and BSMI. In the box are the Archer TBE400E, two high-performance antennas, a low-profile bracket, a Bluetooth header cable, a quick installation guide and a resource CD.
