The TP-Link Archer T1300U Nano is an AC1300 nano wireless MU-MIMO USB adapter that adds dual-band Wi-Fi of up to 1300 Mbps across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands to a computer. It supports IEEE 802.11ac on 5 GHz, WPA3 security and MU-MIMO with MU-MIMO routers, plugs into USB 2.0, measures 19.85 x 15.7 x 7.39 mm and supports Windows 11/10/8.1/8/7 and Mac OS 10.15 and earlier.

Archer T1300U Nano overview

The Archer T1300U Nano is TP-Link's AC1300 nano wireless MU-MIMO USB adapter, and TP-Link sums it up as tiny in size but mighty in performance. It receives Wi-Fi on two separate bands: IEEE 802.11b/g/n on 2.4 GHz and IEEE 802.11a/n/ac on 5 GHz, so a desktop or laptop can join the less congested 5 GHz band of an 802.11ac router or fall back to 2.4 GHz where range matters more. TP-Link quotes high-speed dual-band Wi-Fi of up to 1300 Mbps, which it positions for everything from HD video streaming to lag-free online gaming and everyday web surfing. Listed modulation runs from DBPSK, DQPSK and CCK up to OFDM with 16-QAM, 64-QAM and 256-QAM.

MU-MIMO is the adapter's headline technology. When the Archer T1300U Nano works with a MU-MIMO router, which provides multiple data streams simultaneously, TP-Link says it boosts the throughput and efficiency of the entire network rather than just the one computer. That matters in homes where phones, TVs, consoles and computers all compete for the same router. Both infrastructure mode, for connecting to a router or access point, and ad-hoc mode are listed as wireless modes.

For security, the adapter supports WPA3, which TP-Link describes as the latest Wi-Fi security protocol, with more secure encryption for Wi-Fi passwords and enhanced protection against brute-force attacks. WPA3-SAE is listed alongside WEP, WPA/WPA2 and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK, so it can still join older networks that have not yet moved to WPA3. Certifications are FCC and CE.

The defining trait is size. At 19.85 x 15.7 x 7.39 mm, TP-Link says the nano adapter can be connected to any USB port and left there, whether you are travelling or at home, and a status LED shows what it is doing. The interface is USB 2.0. Setup uses a friendly user interface supplied on a resource CD, and TP-Link's specifications list support for Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8 and 7, plus Mac OS 10.15 and earlier. It is rated for operation from 0 to 40 degrees C at 10 to 90% non-condensing humidity, with 5 to 90% non-condensing storage humidity. In the box are the Archer T1300U Nano adapter, a quick installation guide and the resource CD.
