The TP-Link SG3428XPP-M2 is an Omada Access Pro 24-port 2.5G and 4-port 10GE SFP+ L2+ managed switch with 24-port PoE++, hardware V2 on the AU page. Every 2.5 Gbps RJ45 port is 802.3bt/at/af PoE++ with up to 90 W, from a 770 W total budget. It has 200 Gbps switching, static routing, ERPS and ISP features, console ports and Omada controller management.

SG3428XPP-M2 overview

The SG3428XPP-M2 is TP-Link's Omada Access Pro 24-port 2.5G and 4-port 10GE SFP+ switch with 24-port PoE++. TP-Link's Australian page lists hardware V2, with V1 and V1.20 pages also available, and the V2.0 datasheet matches. It has 24 x 2.5 Gbps RJ45 ports, every one of them 802.3af/at/bt PoE++, four 10 Gbps SFP+ slots, an RJ45 console port and a Micro-USB console port. It is built for networks where every access point, camera or device needs both multi-gigabit speed and high PoE power, such as Wi-Fi 7 access points on 2.5G uplinks, PTZ cameras and other 802.3bt devices.

PoE is its defining feature. Each of the 24 ports can deliver up to 90 W, and the total PoE budget is 770 W. TP-Link notes that budget figures are based on laboratory testing and are not guaranteed. Fast PoE and Perpetual PoE are supported, and the datasheet lists a PoE Extend Mode. The internal power supply runs from 100-240 V AC 50/60 Hz. The datasheet lists a maximum power consumption of 900.2 W at 110 V/60 Hz (946.8 W at 220 V/50 Hz) with 770 W of PDs connected, and standby consumption of 37.0 W; the AU product page shows a lower 629.1 W figure marked as still to be tested, so treat the datasheet as the reference. Three fans cool the 440 x 330 x 44 mm rackmount chassis; the datasheet lists a typical noise level of 44.6 dBA at 1 m with a 616 W PoE load at 25 degrees C. The net weight is 5.20 kg and MTBF is 474,958 hours at 25 degrees C.

Switching capacity is 200 Gbps and the forwarding rate is 148.80 Mpps, with a 32K MAC table, 16 Mbit packet buffer and 9 KB jumbo frames. L2+ functions include 32 IPv4/IPv6 interfaces, 48 static routes, 128 static and 512 dynamic ARP entries, proxy and gratuitous ARP, DHCP server, DHCP interface and VLAN relay and DHCP L2 relay, link aggregation, spanning tree, loopback detection and mirroring. VLAN support covers 4K groups, MAC VLAN with 256 entries, protocol VLAN, GVRP, VLAN mapping, VLAN replace and voice VLAN, and multicast covers 511 IGMP groups, IGMP authentication, MVR and MLD snooping. ISP features include L2PT, DLDP, PPPoE ID insertion, ERPS, 802.3ah OAM and DDM. Operating temperature is -5 to 45 degrees C.

Management is flexible. Standalone, it offers a web GUI, CLI through the console port or Telnet, SNMP v1/v2c/v3 with RMON, LLDP-MED, DHCP AutoInstall, dual image and configuration, cable diagnostics and password recovery. Through an Omada hardware, software or cloud-based controller it gains centralised cloud management via the web or the Omada app, automatic device discovery, batch configuration and firmware upgrades, intelligent network monitoring and abnormal event warnings; Zero-Touch Provisioning requires the Omada cloud-based controller. Security features include IP-MAC-port binding, DHCP snooping, ARP inspection, IP source guard, DoS defend, port security and 802.1X with RADIUS. In the box are the switch, a power cord, an RJ45 console cable, an installation guide, a rackmount kit, rubber feet and screws. It carries CE and FCC certification.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the SG3428XPP-M2 from the ARC IP Networks team.

Last reviewed October 2026.

All 24 RJ45 ports are 802.3bt/at/af PoE++ with up to 90 W per port, and the total budget is 770 W. TP-Link notes the budget is based on laboratory testing and is not guaranteed.

Yes. All 24 RJ45 ports run at up to 2.5 Gbps, and there are four 10G SFP+ slots for uplinks.

200 Gbps, with a 148.80 Mpps forwarding rate and a 32K MAC address table.

The V2.0 datasheet lists 900.2 W at 110 V/60 Hz and 946.8 W at 220 V/50 Hz with 770 W of PDs connected, and 37.0 W standby.

It has three fans. The datasheet lists a typical 44.6 dBA at 1 m with a 616 W PoE load at 25 degrees C, and 38.7 dBA with a PoE load under 450 W.

No for standalone use via web GUI, CLI and SNMP. Centralised cloud management and the Omada app need an Omada hardware, software or cloud-based controller, and Zero-Touch Provisioning needs the cloud-based controller.

Both have 24 x 2.5G ports and four 10G SFP+ slots. The SG3428XPP-M2 adds 90 W PoE++ on every port with a 770 W budget; the SG3428X-M2 has no PoE, one fan and a shallower chassis.

The Australian page lists the SG3428XPP-M2 V2, with V1 and V1.20 pages also available.

The switch, a power cord, an RJ45 console cable, an installation guide, a rackmount kit, rubber feet and screws.
