The TP-Link SG3210XHP-M2 is an Omada Access Pro L2+ managed switch with eight 2.5 Gbps RJ45 ports, all 802.3af/at PoE+ at up to 30 W each from a 240 W budget, and two 10G SFP+ slots. It has 80 Gbps switching capacity, static routing with 48 routes, ERPS and other ISP features, RJ45 and Micro-USB console ports, a 1U rackmount chassis with internal AC power and a fanless mode at lower PoE loads, plus Omada SDN cloud management.

SG3210XHP-M2 overview

The SG3210XHP-M2 is TP-Link's Omada Access Pro 8-port 2.5G and 2-port 10GE SFP+ switch with 8-port PoE+. TP-Link Australia lists hardware version V3.20, with V1 as the earlier version. Its eight 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps RJ45 ports are all IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+ ports with up to 30 W per port and a 240 W total PoE budget, so every port can feed a 2.5G access point, camera or phone at once within that budget. TP-Link notes the budget is calculated from laboratory testing and the actual figure will vary. Fast PoE, Perpetual PoE and PoE Extend Mode are supported, with an Alternative A pinout (1/2 negative, 3/6 positive). Two 10G SFP+ slots provide uplinks; the datasheet notes that only one 10G RJ45 SFP+ module (SM5310-T) can be inserted at a time.

Performance figures are 80 Gbps switching capacity, a 59.52 Mpps forwarding rate, a 16K MAC address table, 12 Mbit packet buffer and 9 KB jumbo frames with store-and-forward transmission. The switch is a 1U, 440 x 180 x 44 mm (17.3 x 7.1 x 1.7 in) rackmount unit weighing 2.43 kg, with a rackmount kit, screws and rubber feet in the box. It has two fans, but the datasheet lists a fanless mode when PoE load is below 210 W at 25 degrees C ambient, typical noise of 13.7 dBA at 1 m with a 192 W PoE load, and up to 21.4 dBA at 25 degrees C or 29.7 dBA at 45 degrees C under full load. Power is an internal 100-240 VAC supply; maximum consumption is 284.3 W at 110 V or 276.9 W at 220 V with 240 W of powered devices, and standby consumption is 19.3 to 20.0 W. Operating temperature is -5 to 50 degrees C and surge protection is 6 kV on the service ports.

L2+ features include 32 IPv4/IPv6 interfaces, 48 static routes, 128 static ARP entries and 512 ARP entries, proxy and gratuitous ARP, DHCP server, DHCP interface and VLAN relay and DHCP L2 relay. Layer 2 covers link aggregation, spanning tree, loopback detection, 802.3x flow control and mirroring. Multicast supports 511 IPv4/IPv6 IGMP groups with IGMP snooping and authentication, MVR, MLD snooping and multicast filtering. VLAN features include 4K VLAN groups, 802.1Q, MAC VLAN with 256 entries, protocol VLAN, GVRP, voice VLAN and VLAN VPN with VLAN mapping and replace. ISP-oriented features are L2PT, DLDP, PPPoE ID insertion, ERPS, 802.3ah Ethernet Link OAM and DDM.

Security includes IP-MAC-Port and IPv6-MAC-Port binding (512 entries each), DHCP and DHCPv6 snooping, ARP inspection, ND detection and snooping, IPv4 and IPv6 source guard (100 entries each), DoS defend, DHCP filter, port security with up to 64 MACs per port, storm control and 802.1X. QoS offers 8 queues, 802.1p CoS and DSCP, SP, WRR and SP+WRR scheduling, port and flow-based rate limiting and 802.1p/DSCP remarking. Standalone management uses the web GUI, CLI through the RJ45 or Micro-USB console port or Telnet (an RJ45 console cable is included), SNMP v1/v2c/v3, RMON, LLDP/LLDP-MED, DHCP AutoInstall, dual image and configuration, cable diagnostics, EEE and password recovery.

Centralised management requires an Omada controller: the cloud-based controller at version 5.15.22 or later, or a hardware or software controller at 5.15.20 or later, according to TP-Link. This brings cloud access, the Omada app, automatic device discovery, batch configuration and firmware upgrading, intelligent network monitoring, abnormal event warnings and reboot schedules; Zero-Touch Provisioning requires the cloud-based controller. If you do not need PoE, the SG3210X-M2 offers eight 2.5G ports and two 10G SFP+ slots with the same 80 Gbps switching capacity but no PoE output. In the box are the switch, a power cord, an RJ45 console cable, a rackmount kit, rubber feet, screws and an installation guide.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about the SG3210XHP-M2 from the ARC IP Networks team.

Last reviewed October 2026.

All eight 2.5 Gbps RJ45 ports are 802.3af/at PoE+ ports with up to 30 W each.

240 W total. TP-Link notes this is a laboratory figure and actual budget varies.

No. TP-Link lists 802.3af/at PoE+ at up to 30 W per port. For PoE++, TP-Link offers the SG3218XP-M2 and SG3428XPP-M2.

Both have eight 2.5G ports, two 10G SFP+ slots and 80 Gbps switching. The SG3210XHP-M2 adds PoE+ on all eight ports with a 240 W budget; the SG3210X-M2 has no PoE.

Yes, but TP-Link's datasheet notes only one 10G RJ45 SFP+ module (SM5310-T) can be inserted at a time.

It has two fans, but TP-Link lists a fanless mode when PoE load is below 210 W at 25 degrees C, and typical noise of 13.7 dBA at 1 m with a 192 W PoE load.

The Omada cloud-based controller 5.15.22 or later, and Omada hardware or software controllers 5.15.20 or later.

TP-Link Australia's product page shows V3.20, with V1 also listed as an earlier version.

Yes. It is a 1U, 440 mm wide switch and the rackmount kit is included.

The switch, a power cord, an RJ45 console cable, a rackmount kit, rubber feet, screws and an installation guide.
