The TP-Link SG3210X-M2 is an Omada Access Pro 8-port 2.5G L2+ managed switch with 2 x 10G SFP+ slots, hardware V1.20 on the AU page. It has eight 2.5 Gbps RJ45 ports, 80 Gbps switching, a fanless design with internal 100-240 V AC power, RJ45 and Micro-USB console ports, static routing, LACP, MSTP and QinQ. It has no PoE. Manage it standalone or through an Omada controller.

SG3210X-M2 overview

The SG3210X-M2 is TP-Link's Omada Access Pro 8-port 2.5G switch with 2 x 10G SFP+ slots; TP-Link's Australian page lists hardware V1.20, with a V1 page also available. It is a compact multi-gigabit L2+ managed switch: eight 2.5 Gbps RJ45 ports for 2.5G clients such as Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6 access points, workstations and NAS units, plus two 10G SFP+ slots to uplink to a core switch or server. It also has an RJ45 console port and a Micro-USB console port for out-of-band CLI access, and an RJ45 console cable is included. This is the non-PoE model: none of its ports supply PoE, so access points connected to it need PoE injectors or local power. The SG3210XHP-M2 has the same port layout with eight 2.5G PoE+ ports and a 240 W budget.

Switching capacity is 80 Gbps with a 59.52 Mpps forwarding rate, a 16K MAC address table, 12 Mbit packet buffer and 9 KB jumbo frames, so all ten ports can run at line rate. The design is fanless for silent operation and the power supply is internal, at 100-240 V AC 50/60 Hz, with a maximum consumption of 15.0 W at 110 V/60 Hz. The chassis measures 294 x 180 x 44 mm and can be rack mounted or placed on a desk; the rackmount kit, screws and rubber feet are in the box along with a power cord and installation guide. TP-Link rates operation from -5 to 50 degrees C.

As an Access Pro switch it brings the fuller L2+ feature set rather than the smart switch set. L3 features include 32 IPv4/IPv6 interfaces, static routing with 48 static routes, 128 static ARP entries, proxy and gratuitous ARP, DHCP server, DHCP interface and VLAN relay and DHCP L2 relay. L2 features include static and 802.3ad LACP link aggregation (8 groups of 8 ports), STP, RSTP and MSTP with TC protect, BPDU filter and root protect, loopback detection, HOL blocking prevention and port and CPU mirroring. VLANs cover 4K groups, MAC VLAN with 256 entries, protocol VLAN, GVRP, port-based and selective QinQ and voice VLAN. Multicast covers IGMP and MLD snooping with querier, IGMP authentication, MVR and multicast filtering, and QoS uses 8 queues with SP, WRR and SP+WRR scheduling and flow actions.

Security includes IP-MAC-port and IPv6-MAC-port binding (512 entries each), DHCP and DHCPv6 snooping, ARP inspection, IPv4 and IPv6 source guard, DoS defend, port security of up to 64 MAC addresses per port, storm control, 802.1X with VLAN assignment, MAB and guest VLAN, RADIUS, AAA with TACACS+, port isolation, packet content ACLs and HTTPS management. Standalone management covers a web GUI, CLI through the console port or Telnet, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, RMON, LLDP-MED, DHCP AutoInstall, dual image and configuration, cable diagnostics and password recovery. Centralised management uses an Omada cloud-based controller (built-in version 5.15.22 or later), hardware controller or software controller (5.15.20 or later), with cloud access, the Omada app, batch configuration and abnormal event warnings; Zero-Touch Provisioning requires the cloud-based controller. It is certified CE and FCC.
